"I have remodeled my Kitchen and Bathroom with Property Revision. Paul Schuessler and Brittany Oâ Connor were amazing. I never felt any pressure. We felt like a team working together to make it an enjoyable experience. No conflict or change order was an issue. All issues were worked through with calm experience. I never felt any frustration. Paul was fantastic to go the extra mile with additional work needed, like trimming off a window, door and replacing lights. He made sure the cabinets and counter tops were perfect. Brittany also was fantastic with and wonderful help to pick out the look I desired. She guided me through different designs, picking in the end one I love. Sometimes communication with remodels is a problem, but not here. Courteous, always calling to say when coming over and always available on phone to help with my different ideas! In this time of Covid, masks were never an issue for them. Dr Ann Tousignant"

"Once I sent her all the measurements, it took her a little while to get the options back to me.  Overall, they're good designs.  However, they're very simplistic and give general ideas for space planning.  I was hoping to have a better idea for sizes of furniture for the space and some variations on staging.
Jill was very responsive when I did have a question.  I'm not sure how helpful it is to have a virtual design done.  If we lived in similar cities, I'd probably use her again for help with additional designs.

"We started work with Candance & Design in January of 2022 after meeting with Candy personally, months before, to work out a remodel plan for our home. Candy was kind, knowledgeable, and listened to everything we were throwing at her. We wanted an updated, brighter, and more functional space for our growing family and her renderings were all of those things and more. We loved being able to see our space transform virtually and make changes as needed until it was perfect. Candy was always open and willing to make any changes along the way, even when we changed the initial layout more than once! She never seemed to worry about any issues, and always had a solution for anything we brought up. Throughout the process, we added a few things on and ended up remodeling basically our entire home inside and out. As always, there were some hiccups along the way. Our project was projected to be completed in May, but went over that deadline by about three months due to some scheduling conflicts, project delays/changes, miscommunication, and materials being backordered. The biggest struggle for us throughout the project was the miscommunication, we felt that our wants/concerns/needs weren't always heard, or they were heard but not relayed correctly, resulting in frustration for everyone. We also felt very repetitive in communicating things because it seemed as though not everyone was on the same page at times. Most of the subcontractors were great, with a few exceptions. We stopped in often to check on progress and every time we encountered someone, they were more than happy to talk to us and even answered questions and concerns we had or talked about changes with us and Candy or Cole. Candy and her team are all excellent and the nicest people to work with. They also were always available when we had questions or concerns. Our daughter had her first birthday during our renovation, and they were so thoughtful in bringing her a little gift! Overall, our home is beautiful inside and out. The craftsmanship is excellent and the designs that Candy and her team at Candance & Design worked on to make our home what we needed it to be are perfect. We appreciate the months of hard work put into our home and will enjoy it for years to come!"

"The work went very well, my wife and I were pleased with the prompt professional service. The price was affordable and the work was great, once finished he cleaned after himself and made sure we were satisfied. I would definitely refer this company to anyone I know who needs any home repair work. Chris met our expectations and beyond with the affordable price and high quality service along with a time frame."

"We love the finished product but the process took much longer than it should have (9 months from initial meeting to finished project).  There was not a lot of communication during this long wait.  I know that some people will say that choosing a busy contractor assures you of someone good, but they seem to be a bit too busy."

"Amanda was really very good!  At first I was very skeptical, thinking why did I pay money to just speak with someone on the phone about my kitchen remodel project... but after just a few minutes of her addressing some of the issues/questions I emailed to her earlier, I knew it was worth it.  It was very clear that she knew her business and she gave me several ideas that I had not even thought about.  I told her that I would definitely recommend her to friends and I will very likely use her again myself for my next home project!

FAQs for kitchen remodel projects in Ashippun, WI

Your galley kitchen needs adequate clearance around any island installation to maintain functionality. Most galley kitchens lack sufficient width for traditional islands, as these layouts prioritize efficiency in smaller spaces.

If your kitchen has an unusual width, consult with a kitchen designer who can evaluate your specific dimensions and recommend appropriate solutions. For narrower spaces, consider alternatives like rolling carts or narrow work tables that provide additional surface area without permanently restricting movement.

Kitchen remodels require six to 10 weeks for completion, though timelines vary based on project scope and material availability. Simple updates like cabinet refinishing and countertop replacement might finish within a few weeks, while comprehensive renovations involving structural changes often extend beyond two months.

Planning stages add approximately four weeks before construction begins. Maintaining clear communication with your contractor and ordering materials early helps prevent unnecessary delays.

Common errors include insufficient clearance between opposing countertops, inadequate lighting that creates shadowy work areas, and poor storage planning that leaves countertops cluttered. Some homeowners select oversized appliances that overwhelm the space or invest in expensive features that don't address fundamental workflow issues.

Careful planning, accurate measurements, and consultation with experienced professionals help avoid these pitfalls and ensure your renovation successfully addresses your kitchen's specific challenges.

Whether expansion makes sense depends on your home's layout, your budget, and your long-term plans. Combining a galley kitchen with neighboring spaces creates more open, flexible layouts that many buyers prefer. However, removing walls involves substantial costs, particularly if they contain plumbing, electrical systems, or structural elements.

Sometimes, optimizing your existing galley layout through better storage solutions and lighting proves more cost-effective than expansion. Consult with a contractor to evaluate specific costs for your situation.

Effective galley kitchen lighting combines multiple sources to eliminate shadows and create visual spaciousness. Overhead fixtures provide general illumination, while under-cabinet lighting illuminates work surfaces directly. Consider recessed ceiling fixtures that don't protrude into limited headspace.

Lighting with dimming capabilities allows adjustment for different activities. Reflective surfaces like glass tile backsplashes or glossy cabinet finishes help bounce light throughout the space, reducing the corridor effect common in galley layouts.
