"They did an outstanding job in one of the rooms, where they spent extra time making sure to get a few spots out. The two other rooms were average, as numerous spots remained. Surprisingly, I don't recall their mentioning their inability to get the spots out when the left my house. Also, they were supposed to clean the carpet in a short hallway, but it was obviously not cleaned at all. <br /> Of note, it appears they do not vacuum before they clean the carpets. So, where I had any pieces of solid material on the carpet (think stray popcorn kernels and the like), it remained when they left (though it was pushed to the edges). <br /> I guess I expected more: <br /> 1. A thorough vacuuming first so the full floor of the room was clean <br /> 2. Spot removal in all rooms, or comments about where/why they were unable to remove spots <br /> 3. Consistent performance from one room to the next. It seemed they were focused on making the "nicest"/"most important" room look good, but didn't care as much about the rooms that are less high profile in the house. <br /> If you hire them, my recommendations: <br /> 1. Be sure to walk through and discuss your needs before, and walkthrough with them after as well to ensure satisfaction <br /> 2. They obviously take pride in their work and were extremely professional and efficient. As long as you are able to establish clear expectations up front, I believe you won't be disappointed. <br />"

"I found Turcios Masonry from Angie's list. I called and Adin Turcios (the owner) answered right away. We set a time for him to come out that day to look at the work I needed done. I had a crack running up the side of my house from settling that needed repaired. It ran through the mortar mainly but also through several bricks. Adin quoted $850 for the job. I had had a handyman quote $1,000 for the same job a few days prior and I didn't get the sense that this was even a specialty of his. Adin came out two days later, did the job, and it looks great. I was very happy with is work and he is a very nice guy to book. I would recommend him to anyone."

"Matt was recommended to us by a master craftsman with very high standards and Matt lived up to every bit of those standards. He listened very intently to our ideas, offered his ideas on the design, then drew up the plans for it. It was a very collaborative effort and over two iterations we came to a final design that was perfect. <br /> <br /> Matt was a pleasure to work with and thoroughly enjoys creating a masterpiece that will withstand the test of elements and time. He puts a lot of thought into each cut and prides himself on his precision. He offered many good suggestions on the design and materials but always sought our approval before making any decisions that would impact either the look or the cost of the finished product. We ended up taking most of his suggestions because it was evident that he truly wanted the best result for us. <br /> <br /> We have already had a handful of people ask us who built our haven by the pool and we proudly tell them, Matt Brainard. We will definitely have him back again for other projects. <br />"

"Overall we are happy with the work done. One of the things that most impressed us is that our call was returned promptly and we received the promised quote promptly as well. This is in stark contrast to the other ( all A rated ) providers we called, many of whom either never bothered to return our initial call or send us the promised quote after reviewing the job. Work was done as agreed, no surprises."

FAQs for gravel or loose fill paving install, spread or scrape projects in Ashland City, TN

To calculate how much pea gravel you need for your project, multiply the length, width, and depth of the area you want to cover to find the volume in cubic feet. Then, divide that number by 27 to convert it to cubic yards to determine the amount of pea gravel you need.

A yard of pea gravel weighs about 1.3 tons or 2,600 pounds. Keep in mind that wet gravel weighs more than dry, and different types of gravel can vary in weight. For example, due to its density, river rock weighs significantly more than crushed stone and pea gravel.

The ideal depth for pea gravel depends on the type and size of your project. You'll need at least two to three inches for walkways and patios and a minimum of six inches for driveways to support heavy vehicles and prevent shifting over time. Aim for a depth of three to four inches in decorative garden beds or drainage areas.

Pea gravel is attractive, versatile, and low-maintenance. It provides excellent drainage, making it ideal for pathways, driveways, and garden beds. On the downside, its sharp texture isn't ideal for bare feet, and it can be challenging to weed or remove once installed. It can also shift underfoot without proper edging, creating an uneven surface.

Alternative landscaping materials you can use instead of pea gravel include wood chips, decomposed granite, crushed stone, pebbles, quartz, mulch, sand, and river rock. These materials offer different aesthetics, performance, and costs, so it’s important to do your research to determine which one best fits your landscape design and budget.

Many homeowners choose pea gravel because it requires minimal upkeep compared to other landscaping materials. You'll need to rake it occasionally to redistribute the stones and maintain an even surface. Pros also recommend installing weed barrier fabric beneath the gravel to prevent unwanted growth, although some weeds may still appear over time.
