"The main reason for calling them was two jobs involving some height and difficult access -- reattaching a roof fascia that was coming off and creating a new interior window frame for a new skylight (turned out that the roofers who installed skylights did not do anything interior!). Both of these went quickly and well. As did a small job installing a valve in a shower line. However there were problems with the next item on the list (we felt we were committed to paying for an entire afternoon.) This was installing a new light fixture -- something we generally do ourselves if the location is accessible. Turned out the guy who came is afraid of electricity because he recently experienced a bad shock. Initially he wanted to turn off all the electricity in the house. Although we talked him out of that and worked with him to find the circuit breaker that turned off the appropriate circuit, it was in a dark hallway and we did not closely supervise the work. And he was in a hurry because they had told him he had to go on to pick up doors for another job the next day. Although he had been very careful to check every step of the way on every other job, he did not on this last one. And afterwards we found that this unusual fixture (two light track arms extending from a base) had been installed improperly so the arms could not be unfolded and extended. We had to take it down and reinstall it ourselves. We requested a small reduction in the charge, half of the time attributable to this job because we felt responsibility for the problem was shared, and that request was granted."

Howdy Neighbor!!!\n Folks around here call me "Cowboy Jim" (Owner of Perfection Coating & Handyman Services, LLC). I am based out of Johnstown, Colorado but I will travel almost ANYWHERE for the right opportunity.\n\n My Primary specialty is Interior/Exterior Painting, Refinishing or Refubishing Decks or Fences, or Deck & Fence repair. However, I AM and ALWAYS have been a HANDYMAN!!! (35 years experience).\n\n I am fully Licensed and Insured (2 million Dollars of Liability for every property that I or my crew works on).\n\n On ALL of my projects I extend a 2 year waranty that is fully transferable to any new owneships.\n\n I can also accept ALL major credit cards to possibly help you schedule your projects easier.\n\n This time of the year with the added pressure of our economy and the holidays, many companies are offering reasonable discounts for their services. Although this may be attractive to most people, I have found that too many shortcuts are taken when you discount your services too much. I will NEVER claim to be the cheapest in the industry!!! However, my prices are fair, and below market standards. I will NEVER trade off my PERFECTIONIST ways for a lower price. I am a man of GREAT integrity and HONOR. I think that we can all agree that is a rare thing these days.\n\n I am prompt, reliable, EXTREMELY neat and organized, detail oriented to a fault at times, and I often take that extra step to take care of something that my customers were not expecting.\n\n I know many people have delayed painting the EXTERIOR of their homes or structures the past 3 seasons. However......It's NOT TOO LATE to paint your exteriors. I primarily use Sherwin Williams paints that are designed to be used as low as 35 degrees, and up to 85 degrees. These paints have a minimum of a 15 year gurantee as well.\n\n As far as interior painting, I use ZERO V.O.C. Paints. We can match any color, and even give you some interior design ideas. \n\nPricing can vary from project to project. It is always best to estimate this is person. My estimates are ALWAYS free of charge!!!\n Some projects that I do are done as an hourly rate (Most Handyman Services are priced this way) My hourly rate for SMALL projects are $60.00 for the first hour, an $40.00 for each additional hour, PLUS any material costs. I DO NOT mark up materials like most companies either!!! I only charge you what I pay for those materials, and those are usually discounted due to my contractor status.\n\n Painting prices average at about $300.00 for an average INTERIOR bedroom, and EXTERIOR painting AVERAGES at about $2,200.00. Please keep in mind that these are AVERAGE Prices. \n\nPlease feel free to call me at: 970-593-8282 for a FREE estimate! (I prefer phone calls over undependable emails.)\n\n Lastly, I literally have HUNDREDS of references and pictures that I can provide to you BEFORE we even meet for an appointment. (I DO NOT pre-screen my references either.)\n\n I greatly look forward to working for you and your family.\n\n Have a great day, and KEEP ON SMILING!!!\n\n COWBOY JIM\n\n PERFECTION COATING & HANDYMAN SERVICES, LLC\n\n 970-593-8282

"Left glass all over our patio. We had a window repair and the two repairmen left large pieces of glass on our porch. There was no warning from them that we might find these. I immediately called the company and sent an email with photos. I was called by the manager, who gave an incredibly poor apology - "this was a human mistake, we don't hire people do to a half job". He did not mention talking to the servicemen and no remedy was offered other than he would come clean up the glass (3 hours later). Besides the glass, we payed $130 for the "service/labor". I would never recommend this company."

Let me tell you a little bit about us. I am Seth Kuddes, owner of United Window Cleaning. When I graduated from CSU (Go Rams!) with a degree in Business Management it was time for my dreams of being an entrepreneur to be put in motion. I launched United Window Cleaning in the summer of 2007 as a local, family-owned window washing business, and it continues to operate that way. My ongoing desire is to create a thriving window cleaning company that is operated with integrity, marked by professional excellence, and carried out with friendliness. In just a few years we have expanded to cover Fort Collins, Loveland, Windsor, Greeley, and all the surrounding areas! And because of you, our customers, we are also expanding our services to include gutter cleaning, pressure washing, and screen repair/replacement. As the business has grown, so has my family! In March of 2008 I married my creative, fun-loving wife, Jessica. Our son Josiah was born in 2010, our sweet daughter, Hope, arrived in 2013, we adopted our second son, Jonah in 2015 and last but not least we had one more beautiful daughter, Hannah in 2016. Jessi loves being a full-time mom and also helps me run the business behind the scenes. As a family, we attend Mountain View Community Church and lead a small group in our home. We love mountain adventures, arts of all kinds (I’m a photographer and Jessi is a painter), traveling the world, and reading together. We also love getting to know new people, so we look forward to meeting you!

FAQs for door or window screens install or repair projects in Ault, CO

Most off-the-shelf screens come in fixed sizes, ranging from 18 inches by 20 inches to 36 inches by 74 inches, which fit the vast majority of residential windows. If your opening falls outside that range or has a unique shape, you’ll need a custom screen built to the exact measurements. Going custom ensures a secure fit, a solid barrier against bugs, and a clean, finished look.

The decision to repair or replace your screen depends on the extent of the damage. Small holes or tears in otherwise solid mesh can be patched, and a sturdy frame usually doesn’t need to go anywhere. However, once the frame is bent or the mesh is brittle and fraying in several spots, replacement becomes a more sensible option—and often proves to be less costly in the long run. Take a close look at both parts before making a decision.

To rescreen a window, start by prying out the old spline, then lift the torn mesh from the frame. Lay the new screen over the frame, allowing about an inch of excess on all sides, and hold it in place while pressing fresh spline into the groove with a roller. Check that the mesh is taut—many pros rest a small brick on it while they work—then trim the overhang with a utility knife.

Most window screens last for 10 to 12 years. Time, sun, and weather gradually make the mesh brittle, so you’ll start to see sagging, rips, or thinning spots that let bugs get through. Check the screens each season; if the mesh crumbles or the frame warps, it’s time to replace them to keep air flowing and pests outside.

Most pros can swap out a screen in 10 minutes to an hour. A quick pop‑in replacement goes fastest, while fitting new mesh into an existing frame or working on a hard‑to‑reach upper window adds time. Either way, plan for at least a few extra minutes per screen so the installer can verify the fit and ensure the spline is seated correctly.
