Monday @ 5 pm, hot water was up and running. David, the technician knew what had to be done to get the heater up and running. The next day, we did have a hiccup with a part but David came out immediately and tweaked the part -- all is good. Here is what I like -- 1. no sales pitch. 2. David gave me a plan b for possible additional work. 3. this company is available 365 days and you dont have to wait for parts to be delivered from out of state. 4. Water Heaters Only has their own facility for parts."

"Darrow and his team did an excellent job! During a 100+ degree heat wave, our 2nd floor A/C failed. My prior A/C man had recently retired and I was scrambling.... reviewed Angie's List and made several calls. In several cases, I found myself as caller #10 in the queue. Darrow took the call personally, however, and was able to see us late that day. As a businessman I'm used to moving slowly, assessing, considering alternatives, etc. On this occasion there was no time, had to go with my gut. Mirsky Heat & Air really came through. They spent several hours (6-9pm) testing different options but ultimately found the compressor required replacement. They were able to return a day later and install the replacement. Their price was fair, Victor (his associate) was extremely knowledgeable, their work was first rate... and their response during a crisis was a life-saver! We highly recommend Darrow and his team... they're the Real Deal!!"

"Using MasterServ is a perfect example of the pros and cons of using a big company. They were able to offer a lower price (by several hundred dollars) than other estimates I received because they specialize in volume (and not necessarily quality). The estimator who came was extremely pleasant and professional, however, internal communication in this company is a disaster. Therefore, small details like getting a new shower valve installed and installign new shower heads were initially overlooked by the installers because this wasn't communicated between the estimator and the crew. I never met the so-called project manager, who should have been there the first day to make sure everyone was on the same page about what was to be done. It was explained to me by the estimator that it would be a two-day job (true). The first day, the crew showed up and spent about two hours cutting holes in the walls and prepping the house. The second day they were there from 7 AM until 830 at night, working like crazy to get it done that day -- very stressful. When I saw that they hadn't installed the new shower valve, I got some grief from the crew and the so-called project manager over the phone, and this was eventually rectified with me paying an extra $200 to have the crew come back for an hour or so to install. When the job was complete they had disconnected and capped some old galvanized pipes, but with the new water pressure they blew out a couple weeks later (because they make their money by moving fast, quality and client communication suffer!). The guy they sent to do the drywall patching was a total incompetent. He showed up a couple days after the plumbing work was done started work and left mid-day saying he'd be back the next day to finish, though he never did return. I called the so-called project manager who was surprised to hear that the job wasn't done and it took a few more days for them to schedule a new guy to come out who had to re-do everything because the first guy was incompetent. In the final analysis, this company was the cheapest alternative, but there were a lot of headaches -- stay on top of them and make sure they do the work correctly!"

"Patrick saved us. He came out within one hour of my initial call and had the broken pipes underneath the house repaired within 24 hours. He was thoroughly professional and completed the unpleasant job quickly after another plumbing company had left us hanging for a number of days, promising to come do the work. He has been very responsive, always letting us know what was happening every step of the way. After he repaired the broken pipes underneath the house ($1000), further inspection by the plumbing camera revealed that we had a serious root issue in our old terracotta main line, so we hired Patrick for the $8000 main line repipe. "It was a certain price for him to come out and fix a leak. He installed the water heater either the next day or maybe the same day. It was right away. I had him one day, and then the next day we noticed water coming out of our water heater. So I called him and he was on his way taking his daughter to school, which is just a block away from our house. So he stopped by and then went to work and brought back a new water heater and installed it. He is a nice person. You can tell. He just wanted to help us. He knew we needed a water heater and he fixed it for us right away."
