"The Cracked Pot was very prompt to give me an estimate, and just as timely to perform the work. In fact, they completed the work in one day! It's clear they take pride in their work, as they were careful to replace the sod after installing the drain system. I was impressed with other details, and would definitely hire again. In fact, I'm interested to hire them later in the year to help with some landscaping ideas."

"We have old trees near my house. Some had thick branches that had died and could fall on a car or on someone walking through the yard. One of my avocado trees which I planted had grown very tall, but was all dead at the top after the hurricane. I called Tom Luke – Plantshouse Garden Design & Landscaping– and he was just wonderful! He got his aerial lift into my narrow driveway and cut a branch from a large tree that hung over my car. He cut off dead branches from an oak in my back yard and cut the avocado way down so it could revive. He was wonderful to have around: calm, friendly. You could see he knew what he was doing! Branches were brought to the street and picked up the same day (was I lucky)! My house is safe now and my trees will flourish. I want others to know that removing damaged or dead branches prevents insects and decay from entering your trees. When you cut off one branch, you allow another branch to grow! I can see that from another avocado that got torn in half from the hurricane. It now has branches sprouted all up and down its trunk! Tom was great. Have him help you with your trees too!"

"Last month I was met with attitude. I informed Chase Williams that the edging had not been done on the south side of the driveway. Also discovered that it hadn't been cut. In Jefferson Parish, at least in our neighborhood, the lot (and therefore ownership) consists of one lawnmower pass on the left side of the driveway. Chase's response was "I'll catch it next time." I have this statement on text as proof to what he said. The "next time" he was in the neighborhood, he was cutting my neighbor's grass. He then backpedaled and said that he said "next cut." He then terminated service to our property but this was ONLY before we fired him. There were other issues as well. He doesn't bag the cut grass. Not bagging the cut grass means he blows it back into your yard. If you have seedy weeds, etc., the not bagging the grass cuttings is an issue because it's just continuing to spread the weed seed and it's filling your yard with shredded grass. Chase has a huge stand up riding mower with big wheels that puts ruts in your grass, particularly after it rains. When I complained the yard looked bad, he claimed it was because it was uneven. We had the backyard filled with the last couple of years, so I know this claim is false. The front servitude does have unevenness because Jefferson Parish removed trees, but that is not what I was referring to with the ruts in our yard. In summary, Chase Williams doesn't care about his customers. He is building a business and has more work than he can handle. He only spends about 10 minutes cutting and edging (not with an edger but a weed whacker) and gets paid $35 for his 10 minutes. If he would spend even 15 minutes to double check his and his helper's work, then he could spot the areas that were missed. A friend of a friend also uses Chase and she is rarely home when he is there to cut. One day that she was home she timed how long he was there. 9 minutes and not a second more! Chase, slow down and check your work!!!!!"

FAQs for lawn and garden sprinkler system installation projects in Barataria, LA

While drip irrigation systems have higher upfront costs, they can save you money in the long run. By delivering water directly into the soil with minimal evaporation and runoff, drip irrigation systems conserve water and improve efficiency. This means better performance and results for your landscaping, and cost savings over the system's lifespan.

Yes, irrigation systems can add value to your home, especially when installed with high-quality materials and a solid design. A well-irrigated landscape enhances curb appeal and can attract potential buyers. However, poor design or installation may reduce performance and even decrease your property's value. Hiring an expert for installation and performing regular maintenance is key to securing the long-term benefits.

A local irrigation professional can help you check your drip irrigation system to make sure it's in good shape. You'll want to make sure the water pressure is in a good range, repair any leaks as soon as possible, and cover the cost to winterize your sprinkler system as recommended by your irrigation contractor.

A drip irrigation system lasts between 10 and 15 years. This lifespan is determined by the quality of materials, the precision of installation, and regular professional maintenance. Unlike traditional sprinkler systems that can last up to 50 years, the thinner piping used in drip systems is more sensitive to UV exposure and environmental wear. Proper upkeep and timely repairs enhance durability and ensure consistent irrigation performance.

Drip irrigation is best suited for plant beds, containers, greenhouses, and row crops. It supplies water directly to individual plants, ensuring precise moisture control where it is needed most. For areas with simple layouts, above-ground systems work efficiently, while subsurface installations may be cost-prohibitive in spaces with extensive tree roots or irregular terrain. Proper planning maximizes the benefits of drip irrigation across a variety of applications.
