"The installers arrived on time and were professional in their work.  I had done a lot of research on gutter guard systems and determined that the Gutter Dome was the best solution - stainless steel with a mesh that would not pass debris from the roof or pine needles.  They finished fairly quickly and appeared to have done a good job.  Upon later closer inspection we found some roofing shingles that were left up and several ends that were not finished.  We have a "V" joint where the garage roof meets the main house.  We were assured that the Gutter Dome would capture the water flow in this corner without a baffle.  That turned out not to be the case, so they returned to add a baffle, finish the ends and lay the shingles flat.
      Later we found that a light mist or heavy dew would not go through the mesh so we ended up with a constant dripping all around the house.  This would not be a problem except that it drips right over the front and rear entrance doors and that moisture freezes in the winter leaving a slick coating of ice.  In a heave dew the water collects and runs in rivulets across the surface of the Gutter Dome and over the edge of the gutter.  The solution was supposed to be a scrubbing with a detergent such as Simple Green and/or the passage of time.  Not so.  After over a year it was still dripping.  The company is now under new ownership but after an initial miscommunication we had a visit from Will to try to correct the problem.  He arrived on time, in fact early enough to observe the dripping.  His initial idea was to run a bead of silicone along the surface of the Gutter Dome, but I questioned the longevity of that solution.  He ended up installing a 1/4" hand-cut deflector near the edge of the gutter.  Unfortunately that didn't help. 
    After a few more calls and discussions with Kieth and Dan, Will came back and replaced a number of sections of the Gutter Dome with the slightly wider mesh Magna.  Water from heavy dew and light rain can more easily get through the Magna's surface and that appears to have taken care of the problem.  It's almost impossible to tell where one stops and the other begins except for the drips over the edge of the gutter.  No pine needles or debris get through either.
     This dripping was not a problem with our old system (which is no longer available) and we were very disappointed with the way this installation had turned out but impressed with Kieth, Dan & Will's willingness to correct it.  In the meantime I've changed their responsiveness and overall rating to A's thanks to their efforts.  I will say, however that it took numerous calls and quite a bit of time before they did come back (we are 2 hours away from their location but within their service area), so be persistent.
     All in all we are happy with the installation and still believe this is the best gutter guard system available.  I would not hesitate to use them if we were starting over again."

"Once again Dan did outstanding work. He was friendly, punctual, professional, cleaned up at the end of each day and did a quality job. In addition, he went above and beyond. He vacuumed the top of my kitchen cabinets, patched the kitchen walls which had been damaged when I'd replaced the counter tops, sanded cabinet doors that were warped and had been rubbing together, and he even installed new hall light fixtures I'd purchased and unsuccessfully attempted to install myself. Very pleased with the work he did and appreciative of the extra assistance he provided!"

"Sean Wright was always professional, prompt, courteous, friendly, and very helpful. I was not sure of some things I wanted to do and Sean made suggestions of various options I had not thought of, then talked through the pros and cons of each idea until I came up with a decision of what would work best for me and what I wanted to accomplish. This was invaluable in helping me manage the costs. The work he and his team did was excellent quality and they cleaned up every day before they left, and made it as easy as possible for me to live in the house while it was being renovated/remodeled.

The subcontractors were also good for the most part. The plumber and HVAC people were competent and completed their work in a timely manner and the pricing was reasonable. The cabinet maker was excellent. He built custom kitchen and bathroom cabinets to my design and measurements and installed them for less than half what Lowes had quoted for similar cabinets and they look great.

The electrical contractor, Kennedy Electric did good work but the price was twice what I had expected and took months longer than it should have.

I would not hesitate to recommend SLW for any size construction or remodeling job. I will be contacting them again later in the summer for some work on the exterior of the house.

"Robert and his son Tony are absolutely amazing. They worked together on my project. Robert contacted me within minutes of my Angie's list search for help. I had 2 previous bad experiences with "roofers" who said they had this problem fixed. Robert was on site within a couple of hours and assessed the situation and put forth a series of likely causes. He is very experienced and completely explains everything. He gave me an estimate, a contract, and a commitment. He honored all aspects of the work. He and Tony found that the previous roofing job was not done as well as it should have been - step flashing was inadequate as was a valley area on the upper roof. Also, the dimensional shingles were not installed correctly allowing water to leak in between them - particularly during heavy downpours or snow melts. They had to remove the siding from the house to fix flashing and install the proper under-layers and shields that should have been done before. He pointed out the problems and explained them in great detail even getting me out on the roof with him at times to show me directly. He took lots of pictures and texted them to me all during the repair so I would see what was being done. They showed up exactly when they said the would and worked tirelessly in the cold to fix my problem. He didn't disparage the previous work done but humbly pointed out the deficiencies and how they contributed to the manifestation of the problems. They ended up having to re-shingle all of the north side of the first story of the house to insure all the problems were fixed. Robert and Tony stayed on my job until it was done. They knew how important it was to me to get the roof fixed as quickly as possible and came through big time! Amazing contractor and now, frankly, people I call friends. If you have roofing or other construction issues and truly want to find the best team to diagnose and handle most any such situation, you can not find a better team, IMHO. I felt the price was very fair considering the work and materials involved. Good work isn't cheap, but cheap work isn't good either! I HIGHLY recommend Robert Gonsalves Roofing!"
