"Basement Project We absolutely love our new basement! I was very nervous when selecting the contractor for this job. I interviewed three contractors for the job, all seem very decent, but what set Best Home apart was Jeff Segovia. He designed the whole layout of our basement (we love it) and oversaw the entire project from beginning to end. The construction crews were very polite and friendly. Best Home did an excellent job and very flexible with many changes I had and they completed the job on time (took 3 months and exactly 1 week)which was amazing. I am actually hiring them again for additional projects. I highly recommend Best Homes!"

"Perfect. Repaired the drafts in 3 doors. You can’t see or feel any air coming through doors now. On time and work steady, finished and cleaned up. Very professional."

"For the most part all went well. The original plan was to install all wall anchors, but they ran into rock around the majority of the foundation. Were very straight forward with notifying me about the problem, was presented with my options and felt as if I was not getting any kind of run-around or bull. The cost was adjusted downward (as the carbon fiber strips are less expensive to install), even though they had dug the holes for most of the anchors. Installation of the strip and the anchors seem to be very well done. <br /> After several rains, the holes for the anchors had sunk down quite a bit. I called the company and they sent someone out to top off the holes. Could have used a bit of grass seed as well, but I'll not knit pick that too much. <br /> The issue I did have was that when they installed the carbon fiber strips, they was an incredible amount of dust from grinding the slots in the walls. I have a large amount of "stuff" in my basement, including a tv, other electronics, excersize equipment, pots, plates, bookshelves, etc... all of which was covered with a healthy coating of dust. When I called to let them know, they told me they were not responsible for cleanup. This would be OK with me had they prevented a good potion of the dust from getting all over everything, but for what I paid for the work, I did not expect to spend days cleaning everything up. I wouldn't mind if we were talking about vaccuming a floor or something, but there was dust in every nook and cranny of an entire basement full of stuff. <br /> All in all, the work was done well and the price was fairly good compared to others I had received. If a bit more care would have been paid attention to the cleanup, or protection of my items, it would have been a very good experience. <br />"

"Freddy was very professional and knowledgeable and explained that the water issues were not the result of foundation issues and explained what he could do if i wanted a dry basement. He did not try to sell me something that i did not need."

"PJ was the only contractor we contacted that was willing to come to our home and take a look before providing an estimate. Everyone else used photos but also made the incorrect assumption about how our front porch was originally constructed and what the issue behind the crumbling was. The process itself was stretched out over two weeks roughly, but that was mainly because of the weather. PJ made a point to keep us constantly updated about when things would stop or resume. We also greatly appreciate that they lengthened the original rails to match the slightly larger stoop. We'll probably reach out once we're ready to do work on our basement!"

"I called Eppard Construction to possibly replace my deck and build a new one.  The only reason they weren't chosen it that the plans for the builder who was chosen had more protection for the basement which is under the deck and also has a flooding problem  so I need to be certain that whatever is done leaves no possibility for water to get into the basement, though the plan submitted by Eppard Construction was excellent.  Construction for the deck would have started 2 weeks after the contract was signed, and it would have been finished 2 weeks after that.  Mr.  Eppard was at all times professional and courteous and I have no doubt that the deck would have been well done.  I would certainly use Eppard Construction in the future. <br />"

Mike kept us up to date with photo's and progress reports. He met up with us to select finishes and was so helpful giving us tips and recommendations. Top quality workmanship. "The basement work included tearing up concrete to install plumbing, installing an ejector pump, installing a shower sink and toilet, electrical and lighting, walls and trim, hardwood floor installation, an egress window, and remodeling a stairway.  Eric Kinnie explained and planned each step of the project with us, and worked with us to ensure the finishes and fixtures were what we wanted.  The Kinnie Design team worked in our house on the bulk of the project for 6 weeks.  They were polite and respectful and made sure that our home life was impacted no more than it had to be to get the work completed.  After the work was completed we asked Eric to change a few of the finishing details (we were not pleased with a few of our initial choices).  He was insistent that we were completely satisfied with their work and helped to make all the changes that we requested."
