He managed efficiently all aspects of the project, deciphering difficult to read architectural drawings and working with the city on our behalf to expedite permits and inspections. He kept regular communication with us regarding the project’s progress, issues, and city requirements. "We are very happy with the work. Arthur was trustworthy and cared a lot about the quality of the work, ensuring that his own workers and the subcontractors completed things properly. We were able to talk openly about costs whenever changes were necessary, and we finished the project on budget. We enjoyed working with him and his crew, and we felt comfortable having his workers as part of our household for the seven months it took to complete the project. Most of his subcontractors were equally conscientious and helpful (there was one exception, and Arthur addressed it quickly when we brought it up). The project would have benefited from better time management and more coordination between the subs, and we had to be persistent about defining the schedule and ensuring that things moved as quickly as possible. "We live in a prewar coop building in Manhattan and were in need of a kitchen, living and dining room/den renovation. Because of the limitations in our building, we were not optimistic that many changes could be made that would dramatically alter the feel/function of the space. Inson Wood proved us completely wrong. With his architectural eye and his impeccable design aesthetic we (and everyone who has been here before and after) experiences our apartment as an entirely different living space. Even family members are shocked at the transformation. I think that what Inson accomplished was the product of a few significant factors. First, Inson asks you what you want and seriously considers how you live. If Inson thinks that different approaches should be considered for what you want, he provides renderings of each option so that you can easily visualize and imagine them. Ultimately, Inson respects your preferences and works with them, elevating them to a level far above what you had imagined. Inson uses the highest quality vendors (whom we NEVER would have found) and expertly guides you through choices (note: follow his recommendations!!!)- our walls would never have had dimension and our kitchen backsplash never have been so unique (two examples) if not for the artisans that Inson uses. Inson is also willing to have you be as much or as little involved in the process as you want to be. I did go with Inson to choose many pieces of furniture but realized after a certain point that his taste point made me confident in him choosing much finishing work (ex: window treatments, decorative cushions, which I love) without me. As with all design work, there are always glitches and Inson was extremely responsive and responsible for taking care of those as they came up. We are nothing less than thrilled to come home each evening and enjoy our space, which feels like a luxurious retreat perfectly tailored to us."

"Dennis and his crew put an addition on our house for my parents. We had a bathroom, bedroom, living room with a sink and cabinets, laundry room and pantry added on. They refinished our garage, added sliders to our existing deck from the addition, extended the roof to cover half the deck and put up new siding on the house. Dennis was in constant contact with us throughout the entire process. He treated us as if he were doing this for his family. Dennis used amazing sub contractors for HVAC, plumbing and electrical. The addition came out beautiful and the workmanship was fantastic. If you need any work done, I highly recommend Dennis to do your next project."

"Matt built a sunroom addition for us. We met many contractors before finalizing with Matt and we surely feel good about our decision. Matt's best quality is his flexibility. He wants his customer to be satisfied and happy with the project. He is very energetic and shows care and respect to customer's requests. He is very detailed on his quote. Though all may not finish per the details (in the quote), it is built well and per the code. Matt is personable and will spend time with you explaining and answering questions. His crew is professional, he may though hire helpers for smaller tasks of the project. His framing team is excellent. In terms of timeline, these projects always take longer than planned. Most of the delays are due to scheduling township inspections (and re-inspections). Expect some delays due to Matt's team availability due other projects they are trying to finish. I am very pleased working with Matt for our sunroom project. I highly recommend him."

"Scott and his team did a terrific job. My deck looks infinitely better than it did and it is more structurally sound now than before. He replaced all the decking on the first floor deck, adding a new addition to the deck and completely renovated a screened-in porch. They removed a floating deck on the upstairs deck and resurfaced the underlying fiberglass deck adding new railings. Scott was present throughout the job with his team (3 people). With this job there were little changes that I wanted made and Scott and the team were extremely accommodating and receptive. They did solid work, were very professional and always left the worksite very clean every day. I highly recommend SCS Construction and would definitely use them again in the future."
