"Tiver called the day before to remind me of the time they would arrive. They arrived promptly and began work immediately. They definitely knew what to do. They wore shoe covers in the house and took out all the screens for washing outside. One person worked inside. Two others were outside. All window coverings were realigned when they were done. Screens were all replaced as they were. They cleaned all the window sills. So happy to have clean sparkling windows and patio door. There were approximately 25 double hung windows and screens plus one sliding glass patio door. Money well spent. Will be using them again in the spring for power washing the house and gutter cleaning."

"Mr. Baker visited my house and provided a free estimate to replace the top exterior window pane of a double hung 6 light vinyl window. He explained in detail the scope of the work to be performed and the time it would take to complete it.The price quote was $235. I said I wanted to think about it and he said that was ok and I could call him later that evening if I wanted him to do the work the next day. I called that evening and he returned the following day to pick up the window. He returned it the same day in about 5 hours (as promised) and reinstalled the window. I was extremely pleased with the work and prompt service. Considering the door to door service, free onsite estimate, convenience, and quality of the work, I think the price was very good. It was also a real pleasure working with Ralph and I would definitely recommend his services to others. Thanks Ralph! <br />"

"We have used Ton Adams twice to install windows. Our interactions leading up to installation were positive. Expect to wait for an installation date though. It did take a while to get dates on the calendar both times. The crew lead by Jay is awesome, and we requested them multiple times. They are professional, friendly and personable. They took the time to do the installation correctly, and they also took the time to talk to us about issues or info about the windows. There were a couple minor issues. One involved a delivered screen that was not the right size. The other involved a broken piece of one window. Both issues were addressed professionally and fixed in a reasonable amount of time. As mentioned it can take some time to get things scheduled."

"Took 4-5 times of coming out to replace one section of a large 2nd story window that had storm damage. First window had a crack in it, so they had to re-replace it. About 11 months later, come to find out they used indoor caulk outside, so caulk was all cracked up. Luckily we were still under warranty, so they came back out and re-caulked, again, after 2-3 calls. In the end the work was done, but it was an aggravation process."

"Generally fine. The installers were very careful getting frame units in and out of their mounts. The new glass was pleasing to see. On the other hand, two of the casement frames were significantly rotted due to unusual weathering, and new glass was installed in these also. One frame could not hold its shape and so the glass cracked almost immediately. We were then told that the company did not replace or repair whole windows (strange) or give refunds for unused glass units since they were "custom size" (unacceptable). There are lots of ins and outs to this story, but don't expect that every scenario will turn out well; even though there is a pre-order measurement visit it didn't include an inspection that might have avoided the waste of money."

"They came out and repaired the door, however after they left we noticed it wasn't fixed. They replaced the screen but they didn't put it in correctly. The actual screen didn't fit the frame of the door leaving an opening/ or gap where the screen and frame meet together. <br /> <br /> My husband called because this issue needed to be resolved. The representative of this company agreed to come back out, but he said would come out sometime between Friday-Sunday but they never showed up. We left a few other messages and cannot get anyone to respond."

FAQs for door or window screens install or repair projects in Bensalem, PA

Most off-the-shelf screens come in fixed sizes, ranging from 18 inches by 20 inches to 36 inches by 74 inches, which fit the vast majority of residential windows. If your opening falls outside that range or has a unique shape, you’ll need a custom screen built to the exact measurements. Going custom ensures a secure fit, a solid barrier against bugs, and a clean, finished look.

The decision to repair or replace your screen depends on the extent of the damage. Small holes or tears in otherwise solid mesh can be patched, and a sturdy frame usually doesn’t need to go anywhere. However, once the frame is bent or the mesh is brittle and fraying in several spots, replacement becomes a more sensible option—and often proves to be less costly in the long run. Take a close look at both parts before making a decision.

To rescreen a window, start by prying out the old spline, then lift the torn mesh from the frame. Lay the new screen over the frame, allowing about an inch of excess on all sides, and hold it in place while pressing fresh spline into the groove with a roller. Check that the mesh is taut—many pros rest a small brick on it while they work—then trim the overhang with a utility knife.

Most window screens last for 10 to 12 years. Time, sun, and weather gradually make the mesh brittle, so you’ll start to see sagging, rips, or thinning spots that let bugs get through. Check the screens each season; if the mesh crumbles or the frame warps, it’s time to replace them to keep air flowing and pests outside.

Most pros can swap out a screen in 10 minutes to an hour. A quick pop‑in replacement goes fastest, while fitting new mesh into an existing frame or working on a hard‑to‑reach upper window adds time. Either way, plan for at least a few extra minutes per screen so the installer can verify the fit and ensure the spline is seated correctly.
