"Luis and his gutter replacement crew did a fantastic professional job replacing old, rotted wooden gutters and replacing them with aluminium gutters. The replacement gutters were the same black color as the gutters they replaced, meaning that there was no loss of aesthetic visual appeal resulting from this work. The crew put in two (2) ten (10) hour days as they encountered a good deal of unexpected rot in the roofing frame behind the fascia boards.. This rot, of course, had to be replaced with new wood. Luis and I negotiated a reasonable additional cost to handle the extra time needed to accomplish this replacement that could not have been foreseen during the initial assessment on which the job estimate was based. On Day 2 Of the job, Luis supervised a clean-up of the entire area, removing all nails and scraps of metal. "The company that cleaned my gutters told me that the fascia board on one side of the house was rotted and needed to be replaced. So, I sought several estimates, including from Mass Gutters and Roofing, which had been recommended on a neighborhood social network website. Instead of picking the cheapest company (heeding the well-known admonition - you get what you pay for), I decided to go with Mass Gutters. When Mark Richardson came to see the house, he pointed out several other issues, including the need to add a gutter in the front of the house over the porch, and the bowing of the wood across the bottom of the porch railing from a lack of support. Based on my conversation with Mark, including his observations, explanations, and suggestions, I felt confident that any work he did would be of excellent quality. I was NOT disappointed! Not only was the fascia board replaced, but the cause of the rotting was determined and eliminated by extending the metal that was too short for adequate protection of the wood. And, in addition to all the work we had discussed, Mark provided a solution to a years-long problem with birds nesting under the roof of the front porch. Metal sheets were installed to prevent them from ever returning. (I look forward to the birds returning next spring, only to discover that they have been permanently evicted!) When the job was completed, Mark checked to be sure that I was happy with the work (I definitely was!) and told me to call him with any questions or problems. "This is the 2nd job we had them do and they were excellent.  Gutters came out great as did the porch.  We are very pleased with both jobs.  Will request more estimates in the future - if they have the time!  They take their time and take the time to explain what they're doing and any other problems they run into.  Our house is not a picnic to work on as it is old.  Both Dean and Derek were very responsive to any questions we had.  Dean also took time to come look at a leak in a window he had replaced last summer.  It had to do with a much bigger issue from our roof and ice dams and not the installation of the window.  Unfortunately he was solidly booked so he couldn't do the repair but I was impressed that he called my husband to check to see if we got someone to take care of the problem - luckily we did.  Thank you for taking the appropriate time to do the job right!
