"The Door Doctor had an opening the same day we called and were able to quickly diagnose our problem. Our technician was able to utilize most of our existing parts for the repair which kept our cost down. He was quick and efficient and even helped us with a couple of other garage door related issues that we weren't even scheduled for. I highly recommend them and will use them again."

"I wanted to share my experience with this company. I had my garage door spring snap and contacted this company early on this Monday morning. The person that answered my call treated me very well over the phone and i was also impressed with her knowledge of both the product line that they offered and the service aspect. Her name was Lindsey. She reflects well how the company treats their customers. Withing two hours she had the service man at my residence to install new springs. His name was Terry Camp and he was also kind and didn't rush to install the springs but instead did it the correct way and made sure that the end result was a quality install. I am very picky about doing things right the first time and this man did just that along with making sure that I felt valued as a customer. I researched pricing on the install before I contacted this company and the price that I was charged was right in line to the penny for the service and quality parts they installed. Thank you Lindsey and Terry for the excellent customer service you offered me today. You have a lifelong customer and I plan to recommend your company to others in need of your service."

"It went pretty good but there are/were problems with the install. The astragal on the bottom of the door continues to roll-up as the door closes. A crew returned to address this issue but it still exists."

"On Sunday October 13th one of my garage door springs broke. I didn't know it was broken. So, when I tried to open the garage door with the opener a gear in the motor stripped out trying to lift the door without the help of the springs. The gentleman asked if I minded if he came out on Monday the 14th because he had some previous plans for Sunday. I thought, wow. I was thrilled he answered the phone on Sunday let alone never thought of asking if he would come out that day. I said, "that would be great." They arrived on time the next day and quickly replaced the spring. Upon trying the garage door we realized there were more problems. They discovered the stripped gear and said it would probably take 2 weeks to get the part. The next day I found the paperwork for my opener and called the manufacturer about the stripped gear. They informed me that my opener had a lifetime warranty on the motor and they would send a new motor out ASAP. I called Screaming Eagle and told them I was getting a new motor. When it arrived I called Screaming Eagle and they came back the next day and replaced the motor. ($20.00). Great price to come out and replace the motor. I am very pleased with the work done by Screaming Eagle and would recommend them to anyone needing garage door repair work!!!"

"Called Arteman's on a rainy day in November, he happened to be available so he came right over.  The other company had left our house with no front entry door, because they just replace doors.  Arteman was a hero that day!  He replaced the rotten beam under the threshold.  He also noted that the tiled entry way was incorrectly installed (previous owner's DIYproject) and he removed the tile as it was sitting on water damaged particle board and interfering with the repair of the threshold. <br /> The company we bought our door from finished installing the door. <br /> We called Arteman's again, because there was a gap between where the door had been installed and where the stoop steps were, leaving his repair exposed.  He came over, within a day or two and filled the gap with a some type of sealer.  The area is not leaking and with this crazy winter we're so grateful for his good work. <br />   I do have a minor gripe though, we wanted him to install new tile for us since our landing now was just plywood since he had taken up the old tile.   I went to the store he recommended to get tile, but none of the tile there appealed to me.  I purchased tile at Lowes.  When he saw the tile, he told us that he wouldn't be able to put it in for another three months.  That seemed like a dodge to me. If he didn't want to put it in, I would have appreciated just a simple "no."  But to be fair he had fit us into his schedule in an emergency and I'm grateful.  Anyhow, I couldn't wait, because to paraphrase the Stark's, "Winter was Coming."  I put it in myself, apparently our landing is homeowner DIY territory.  <br /> All in all Arteman's was great to work with.  Showed up when he said he would.  Completed the job in a quick period of time.  Charged appropriately. <br />"

"With each job that Robert and his crew have done for us, we found that he was extremely professional, courteous, timely, and if there were issues or problems he always discussed them with us before proceeding. Robert is our go-to-person when we have items that need correction for our old house and we will continue to be that person we depend upon. (Retired in Rockford)."

FAQs for garage door installation and replacement projects in Bloomington, IL

Yes, you can replace just one panel if your door is sectional and the damaged panel is available. Most modern residential garage doors have four to six horizontal panels that can be individually replaced. However, finding an exact match becomes challenging for older doors or discontinued styles. For doors over 15 to 20 years old or with multiple damaged panels, a complete door replacement might be more practical and visually consistent.

Minor dents or cosmetic damage can often be repaired without replacing the entire panel, potentially saving you money. However, if the damage affects the door's operation, security, or structural integrity, replacement is often a better investment.

For extensive damage to multiple panels or older doors where matching is difficult, full door replacement might be more economical in the long run than multiple individual panel replacements.

Your garage door panel might be repairable if the damage is superficial and doesn't affect functionality. Small dents in aluminum panels, minor scratches, or cosmetic issues often don't require full replacement. However, replacement is often necessary if the panel is warped, has large holes, shows extensive rust, or affects how the door operates. A professional garage door technician can evaluate the damage and recommend whether repair or replacement offers the best value and durability.
