"They installed two separate mini split air conditioners in October and we only ran them a couple of days before cool weather set in. We immediately had problems in the spring and they came out for no charge to fix errors due to freon leaks, which was good. We had one summer with the other unit and it started spitting out ice. They came out and didn't fix it, but charged us $120... They said it needed a new part. ?t was under warranty and they ended up replacing the whole unit. That was an additional $312 for that for labor. My issue is the $120 for not fixing anything on the first service call."

"Autumn Air's representative arrived at the start of the window provided (great since most services wait until the last moment) and quickly diagnosed the problem. He explained that he could obtain a replacement fan in town and have the unit working that day. At no time did he attempt to "sell" us on a new installation. I asked him to give me a quote on a new installation which would also include replacing all duct work in our cramped attic space. He inspected everything, called his office from his truck and worked out an estimate for three different options. When I questioned him about the difference in price/value he said that the middle option was probably the best value. Since it was a long term investment, I chose the premium option and asked why he had not attempted to "upsell' me. I then found that the techs are not paid commission since the owner did not want to have his customers pressured. A small army arrived the following day at the appointed time and reviewed the installation plans thoroughly and consulted with me regarding my interests in vent placement, etc. based on my history with the old system. The duct installation was difficult due to space constraints and the techs discovered that the old refrigerant lines were not sized properly and therefore new lines would be required for the system. They also had to resize the closet where the old unit had been installed upstairs. They moved the new outside unit to a more suitable location (our underdeck set up was creating an unacceptable heat load) and installed new lines and condensate removal since the older setup was not up to code. Although there were several additional costs to the vendor, the bill was exactly what was agreed to at the time of our initial conversation. These guys are honest, professional, and competent. The system and the ductwork has cured our allergies and we could not be happier."
