"Hired to clean carpet in main living room, main hallway and stairs; all high traffic areas. Great job. Others I've hired to clean, I couldn't see a difference, and with Heaven's Best, there was definitely an improvement. Reasonable cost."

"I called this company to schedule an appointment for carpet cleaning, Unfortunately, this company is limited to certain areas and my zip code was not an area they could work. The person who answered the phone called another company of the same franchise who will be able to clean in this zip code."

"Jim, the owner was very responsive to get to job and it was done well and on time. The problem has been a real lack of follow thru and meeting agreements after installation. I have called, talked to Jim, left voice mails and messages for over a week asking for some kind of written warranty on the carpet and installation. Despite numerous promises, etc, nothing has been received as promised. If you want good customer service after the installation, there are plenty of other options. Very disappointed."

"I took advantage of Pride Floors free in house consultation/estimate. The price was very competitive amongst other flooring companies I visited. I’m glad I chose Pride Floors! Mr Cavazos sent Carlos over the following day and Carlos was able to remove almost 1300 sqft by himself within a couple hours time. Very convenient. Once installed the overall workmanship really showed. No visible seams anywhere! It’s as if the carpet was placed over the subfloor in a single piece! We are truly impressed with how well it turned out. By the way, Carlos and his team of two others were able to get the install done in one day. The install also included removal and install of new tack strips. I will definitely be recommending Pride Floors!"

"Reuben and his team were fantastic! They have a fast level of responsiveness, and were extremely helpful in making sure we had all of the measurements of the home done quickly, and ordered the right flooring materials. Reuben was flexible in scheduling us in last minute to get the project done as fast as possible - and it only took them 3 days to remove flooring and install new flooring for the entire home! (about 1600 sq. ft.) They were professional and moved fast, but most importantly did not sacrifice on quality of work. When I threw them a curveball to host an open house on the last day, they were willing to stay late to get as much done as possible in time for the open house, and then remained focused and professional while guests were touring the property. Would highly recommend and can't wait to hire them again for our next home project!"

"Being new to the area I did not know where to go, Angie's List helped with that problem. <br /> Couture Floors is an amazingly patient and extremely professional business. <br /> The woman in the show room (sorry I forgot her name) was a big help and asked all the right questions to help me decide on a product to meet both my wants and my budget. <br /> The showroom has an excellent array of choices for hardwoods (and carpet, tile, laminate, etc.) and there is no pressure to hurry up and make a choice, I returned to the showroom four times before making the final decision which I have not regretted for one moment. <br /> I cannot say enough about the actual process.  The installation took less than two days and everything was moved out and then back in.  I was amazing and quite delighted at the care and follow through I experienced with Dan and his crew.  <br /> It seemed like I turned around and the floor was installed magically, no muss no fuss, not a hair out of place when complete. <br /> Dan followed up with me via phone to make sure that I was satisfied with the results. <br /> I am planning an outside kitchen/enclosed deck project in which I will use Dan and his team for suggestions and installation of my flooring. <br /> If you want a professional, timely and caring company for your flooring, look no further, Couture Floors should be your choice. <br /> <br />"

"COST:  Before the purchase there were a couple of issues concerning the estimate, although I did not see this as a deal-breaker.  Both estimates came in notably higher than I figured based on my area measurements and the cost of the products I had chosen.  The estimator told me the labor cost for the vinyl was $2.50 per sq ft, wheareas the salesperson in the store had quoted me $2.00.  Not sure why they were not on the same page.  I went ahead and agreed to the additional charge.  The estimated square footage (and subsequent cost) for the carpeting was much higher than my measurements.  The estimator told me that was because two full sections or rolls had to be ordered for the room.  Because the labor is included in the sq ft pricing for carpeting, I asked why I had to pay the labor for the extra carpeting that wouldn't be installed (left over).  He adjusted the price accordingly, and stated the section to be re-stretched would be no additional charge.  When I received the left over carpeting after the install, it was only a few square ft, much less than what there should have been (minus a few scraps) based on the amount he stated that had to be ordered (and I paid for).   <br /> CARPET INSTALL:  The carpeting looked great installed, although I had to push it down along the wall in a couple of places where they missed.  I was a bit annoyed by the amount of dust and carpet fibers covering the baseboards and low window sills, which I cleaned.  They vacuum the carpeting after installing, why not the baseboards?  Also, I overheard from an adjacent room the work leader asking his workers about dents in a door, which they denied.  Nothing was said to me and I didn't see anything when inspecting with the work leader after the install.  Upon closer examination after they left, I closed one of the doors, which was open during the inspection, and noticed two small dents near the bottom of one of the closet doors along with a carpet fiber and dust.  It appears it was struck by a tool, perhaps when ripping up the old carpeting or tack strip.  <br /> VINYL INSTALL:  Had to wait almost 2 months for the vinyl install because of the delay in the ordering process.  According to them, this wait is relatively common for vinyl.  The vinyl looked great after installation, and the quarter-round, which backs up against the existing baseboard, was appropriately cut in the corners.  <br /> However, upon closer inspection after the installers left,  I noticed the caulking of the gap between the quarter-round and the baseboard was done sloppily.  Not enough was used to fill the gap in some places, and in a couple of places, there was a 2 to 3 inch gap without any caulk.  In some other places caulk was smeared on the quarter-round itself, particularly in the closet, where it would be less noticeable I guess.  I went ahead and re-caulked and cleaned off the residue.  Furthermore, I wiped off vinyl glue residue in a few places off the floor itself.  These issues annoyed me, particularly since I actually saved the crew time and effort by telling them they didn't have to paint the quarter-round (I would do it later), and by moving the furniture in and out of the room myself (the painting and moving are included in the installation price).   Also, none of the hinge pins on the 3 doors that were removed were replaced properly.  They were all sticking out above the hinges.  One was sticking out above the hinge more than 2 inches.  I got them all back in place without much trouble, basically just some tapping.   Another thing was leaving the front door open for extended periods while the AC was on.  Some workers closed the door behind them, but at least one kept leaving it wide open, so I closed it when I realized there was no purpose for it being open, other than convenience I guess.  Finally, some companies lay down a runner to protect floors they are  going back and forth on.  This is would be a simple recommendation.  I happily provided a dust pan and rags as they requested and let them know where the restroom was if needed, and otherwise let them do their thing without hanging over them.  They were courteous enough, but I think there is room for improvement concerning service. <br />"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Boerne, TX

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
