"I recently purchased a home with the intentions of moving my mother from a senior assistive-living facility to residing at the new home in a separate, fully functional living space/in-law suite. Additionally, itâ s always been a desire to have a nice home theater. MHI was able to fulfill both of those demands. I searched home advisor and requested an estimate from three different companies. MHI responded and came out to do an onsite assessment of the unfinished basement the following day. I shared with them my â wish listâ of items that I wanted for my motherâ s â apartmentâ to include a bedroom, living area, kitchenette and bathroom with walk-in shower w/ sitting bench and also the theater. Marshall provided feedback on his ideas of meeting those requests and provided a rough schematic during the onsite assessment of what he was envisioning. A couple days letter I received an estimate of the work with a breakdown of payment schedule and we agreed on the contract. I thought his pricing was very fair and competitive based upon other estimates for the project that I was requesting. I think his 20+ years of experience in this business is evident when interacting with him in regards to home improvement project which is somewhat comforting when taking on a project/investment of this magnitude. As far as the project went with finishing the basement, MHI exceeded my expectations of providing an in-law suite that is functional and esthetically pleasing for my mother and a great home theater that the entire family will enjoy. Although there were some hiccups and delays along the way (which isnâ t unusual for a project this size), Iâ m very satisfied with the outcome and my mother loves her new place. Iâ ve already recommended MHI to a couple of neighbors and friends, which I wouldnâ t have done if I didnâ t truly feel that the end product was good. I thought that the entire MHI staff was professional and accommodating. Ms. Debra (office manager/administrative assistant) was very nice and a pleasure to work with throughout the process and Marshall is very responsive when you call or text him (even on the weekend or in the evening). I recommend MHI for any large scale, home improvement project that you may have."
