"While Michael the owner was responsive when it came to the actual scheduled job he sent a much junior technician whom I certainly did not expect because he did not tell me. They were supposed to contact me before he showed up but there was no advance call, luckily I was home at the time. The tech did his job and was about to just leave without showing/telling me about how it works or what he installed. I had to ask him about the installation so I can be sure I knew how the equipment operated and if there's anything I needed to know about the install. In the end my opinion is the attic fan was a waste of money and my time. We don't notice any difference in the interior temperature of our house when it's hot. When I inquired about a refund (within 30 days of the install), Michael said he would offer $89 refund for the equipment and not the install. And to think if I didn't use Angie's list, this would have cost me several more hundred dollars. An expensive lesson learned!

"I have a 2 bed/1bath townhouse.  The bathroom is small which is why I wanted professional input on how to make it a better space, perhaps ideas on storage/built-ins etc.  I thought that we would discuss (in general) cabinets/tile/paint etc and that he would be able to show me a 3-D picture of what my bathroom would look like once remodeled.  Maybe I got that idea from the title on the voucher or I watch too much HGTV.
He showed up on time and was professional.  I don't remember his name.  But he said that my bathroom was 'too small' to create a 3-D picture.  I found that a little ironic since the quote given to me was $10,000 for a remodel of my small bathroom. Especially considering that I wanted to keep my floors and I already had a marble countertop left over from the kitchen remodel.  
Beyond that, he did not have any additional design ideas on how to make the space more usable.  He did show me pictures of tile work from other jobs, which was nice, but I was expecting more.  
So be warned, if you have a 'small bathroom' they will NOT be able to provide a 3-D rendering of your bathroom.  Basically I paid $49 for a quote.

The crew from Excalibur was very meticulous about every aspect, from wood repairs all the way through to cleanup. They installed two layers of 40# paper and a ridge vent which will help to cool the attic. Without any commitments, he order a company he works with "Triple M Roofing" to come and cover my entire roof to protect from rain since it was leaking. That jesture convince me to hire them, not only for their kindness but also for the price. $23,000 got me an entire new roof, missing fascia boards installed and replaced 3 more that were damaged, Gutters installed on the front area of my home. "I called last week to get some ideas on new floors for my house.  I was not ready to buy at that time, but wanted to do my research on flooring and start to get ideas on pricing.  Joel answered my questions and was very responsive to messages and then phone calls.  Joel offered to come by and talk me though all the ins and outs.  In all fairness I later found out he was close by in the area.  But still I liked that he came by and spent the time going over what makes one floor better than the other. 
Later after Joel left I went to Home Depot and Lowes to look at their floors.  I was glad that Joel went over the thickness so I could compare it to the bigger stores.  I ended up calling back later that night and placing an order with Floors Direct.  The pricing was great (great enough to just place the order now). 
The installers (Gabe and Chris) were on time and very professional.  They kept the place clean and were great to have around.  After the install the floors look great. WOW the color just popped and was incredible.  I am glad I went with the underlay and baseboard all at the same time (was going to do the baseboard myself).  It might just be me but the floors when you walk on them sound great and feel great.  I was worried about the thinner floors and the feel when you walk on them.  A few millimeters sure des makes a big different. 
Overall I am very happy that I called Floors Direct and Joel.  They spent the time educating me on the floors enough that I felt very good about the purchase.  I would recommend Floors Direct to anyone looking for new floors."

"Mohammad, is a master carpenter. He custom made most of the work in our condo. He designed a floating staircase. He made three Walnut and Alder vanities for us. In terms of design they are a sight to behold since they do not have any visible hardware. In addition he made a museum quality hand carved front door, which is the talk of the community. Finally, he also designed and installed a 32 feet by 14 feel wall with geometric wood work. I can not recommend him more highly. His kind of work and finish is unparalleled."

"I purchased a Big Deal for $249 for six hours of labor with the intention of having a storage shelf built above the cars in my garage.  Everything was fine but with a small hiccup.  When I first started talking to the company in late August, I emailed pictures and dimensions to Leslie, the project engineer.  She said she had a similar garage, knew what I wanted, and would forward the information to the foreman.  Two weeks later, Kelsey called to confirm the appointment date, she said she did not have the specs for the project, Leslie had been re-assigned, and the foreman would call me to give me a shopping list.  I reitereated that there is no way I can haul sheets of plywood in my convertible and got a little freaked out that no one seemed to know what this project was about.
On the day of the project, Jose picked up the supplies needed and installed the shelf appropriately.  So in the end everything was okay - but I was really nervous for a few days having paid in advance.  Maybe they got so busy with the responses to their Big Deal offer, that things got lost along the way.  Most important, the shelf was built and it is still standing a year later even loaded with furniture, Christmas decorations and boxes.
