"Prompt response… very professional! I have been without a sink for two weeks, called a few companies and no follow up.. Tejadas was able to fit me in right away.. they were at my home on time and did a great job cutting my granite countertop and positioned my sink to get installed by the plumber… I would definitely hire them again for any future jobs"

Customers say: Quick response

"Chris was very polite and seemed personable and professional when we interviewed him for the job. He and his helpers were on the ball about getting the project completed in an emergency situation, however on the final day of the project he said the job was completed when he and another worker installed some upper kitchen cabinets in about 3 hours, when it was actually left unfinished. His hourly rate was quoted at $35 per hour; he really didn't give us a quote for the entire project. He charged us 8 hours per person that day, as well as a number of other days, whether they were there 3 hours or 8. Also, after some demolition we discovered this project was covered by insurance and we found that his repair costs rose dramatically when he knew insurance was paying for it. He did return to finish up the trim work and cabinets when I called and complained. For these reasons we won't recommend or hire him again."

"I can highly recommend Kevin Benedict. His attention to detail and communication are really impressive. Kevin did a major remodel for us and despite supply delays, his final cost was spot on with his original estimate. I plan to use Kevin for more work in the future."

"We went with John as his bid was lower. He worked alone for most of the project which helped keep costs down. The project did take a long time as he was balancing snow removal with our renovation, but he did explain this before he started. He was very honest and had good ideas; we never thought he was deliberately running up the price or making the project more complex than it needed to be. He was willing to do a few other minor repairs around our home that were needed. He also removed all construction debris and was willing to economize when we asked him to. He also took care of our dog when he was working at the house. <br /> We highly recommend him. <br />"

"Received several estimates on power washing but was hesitant with hiring just anyone due to the fact of putting our home on the market. Aldenpainting was very knowledgeable and professional, hired him on site."

"I left my name and phone number at Laurie's Certified Construction booth at a home show.   A few weeks later, Laurie phoned and set up an appointment for her daughter, Angel, to come to our home and assess our roof.   She phoned twice, within a few minutes - once to set up the tentative appointment and once to confirm when she had spoken with Angel.    Angel phoned the next day and asked to change the appointment because she had a previous commitment at the time that had been set.   She called well before the appointment time and the new time was not inconvenient so I agreed.   When Angel arrived and had introduced herself, she proceeded to assess our roof.   She was very professional and explained everything clearly.   She gave me a verbal estimate and explained what that covered and told me that Laurie would confirm the next day in writing.   She also told me what the estimate would not cover.   We have an area on the roof that may need new plywood, but she couldn't know for sure until they took the shingles off the roof.  She said that they would not proceed with any unestimated work until it had been discussed with me and I agreed to the work.   Laurie sent a written estimate via email along with information about the shingles and her insurance certificate.   The total amount was the same as Angel had given us, but the amount of the down payment was different.   I asked a few questions via email and received almost immediate replies. <br /> We chose another contractor for two reasons:  1) the estimate from Laurie's Certified Construction was almost $ 2000 more than the highest of three other estimates we received; and 2) I was a bit concerned about the few discrepancies in communication between Laurie and Angel.   If I was going to spend an extra $ 2000, I had to have a lot more confidence that there would be consistency in information provided at the site and that provided from the office."

FAQs for major home repair (general contractor) projects in Brandon, VT

In many cases, it’s much less expensive to convert a bus than to buy an RV, especially if you’re considering a newer RV model, which can exceed $100,000.

Another huge benefit of school bus conversion is that you are in control of the renovation project. You get to pick your camper's new layout and all the appliances and furniture.

While school buses can easily cost $300,000 when they're new, you can often find used buses for just a few thousand dollars. These vehicles experience extreme depreciation due to government regulations; they can only be used for so long before they must be replaced. Due to those same regulations, other government agencies cannot purchase them for their own uses, so the consumer market is the only place they can go.

The length of time it takes to convert a bus depends on the scope of the project (and size of the bus), how much work is DIY vs. done by a professional contractor, and how much work you’re doing up front.

In general, expect at least a couple of months for a conversion, but larger conversions could take six months to a year. Remember: You can tackle projects as you go: Get the basic work done so that it’s livable, and then continue to enhance your living space over time.
