"the quality of work was high. i am satisfied with the result. i did, however, have a lot more clean up after they left, than i expected. they may consider using tarps on the ground around a house before applying the foam. there are pieces of foam all throughout my landscaping, lawn, and around the house. also, a little more professionalism would be nice. the workers, without asking, decimated my blueberries, which is disturbing as i rely on the food i grow."

"I had an emergency and JR Insulation Drywall did an amazing job. I had just sold my house, and in the process of moving, the movers broke a pipe that had to be repaired behind a wall on the day we gave possession to the new owners. I called JR Insulation Drywall and they were there the same day I called and did a wonderful job of the repair. Responsive, quality, and for a great price. Would definitely hire again if I needed help. I so appreciated their help in a stressful time for me."

"They installed new insulation for us in an um-insulated attic space. They were well-priced, on-time, and very easy to work with. Workers all wore protective equipment and were both professional and friendly."

"My project was finishing out a former shower stall into a future storage space. This entailed mud and tape to the sheetrock to a “ready to paint” status and lay new engineered tile flooring over the subfloor. Prior to hiring Torin, he was shown the space and what was needed in order to provide an estimate. The estimate met my needs and budget. He was always a couple minutes early, was genuinely friendly and professional. Each day he started by insuring his work area protected non-workareas from spills or other damage. His work was top-notch, and since the work took several days he made sure he always left with his areas cleaner than before. If I could give him 6 stars, I would. We are already in discussion about finishing this new space into a shelved storage area for the bathroom."

"

My husband and I entered into this project wanting a few slabs of plywood installed in our attic space and more insulation for our home.  When we agreed to an initial bid with Phillip we truly had no idea just how wonderfully Phillip would transform our attic space.  We are delighted. Phillip is methodical, thoughtful, and determined to do what is right. He installed fire rated stairs to our attic space via our garage. He modified those stairs for the best fit in our space including building the frame and adding the needed supports. He insulated the entire attic space and constructed new walls with insulation in the attic around our vaulted ceiling. He even put batting over the top of the vaulted ceiling. He fully sealed our attic floor with flexible grout. Phillip removed the loose fill insulation and added batting to at least R38 or better in key places. He added electricity and lighting in the attic and at our request installed new LED lights for us in our hallway, front living room and kitchen. Phillip added extra air baffles that he designed to our soffit vents. Then he added three levels of decking for us! Phillip is very concerned about energy usage and while working up in our attic space he noticed that our current bathroom fans weren’t vented properly for best function.  So, he realigned our vents and installed higher powered fans that are way quieter than our old fans with ceiling hoods on the roof that he designed. Phillip fully documented the entire process with a detailed 284 page photo album pdf. I wish all contractors were so visible with their process. Without our asking, Phillip researched and found an Energy Trust Rebate and filled out all of the necessary paperwork for us to file. We are looking forward to working with Phillip again in the future. To anyone looking for this type of work, we highly recommend Phillip Norman of Attic Access.

"My 70's paneling need to be sheet rocked, primed & ready for painting. I also needed cracks in my textured ceiling repaired & the holes left by removal of old thermostats repaired. All was beautifully done. The textured ceiling was matched perfectly. No easy task. Im very impressed by Chuy & his team. Professional, skilled & a dream to work with. Very fair pricing & all work was done on time. I highly recommend. I have already booked my next project!"

FAQs for spray foam insulation projects in Bridal-Veil, OR

Old insulation should be removed when it shows damage, contamination, or heavy deterioration. If you notice water stains, rodent droppings, mold, or large gaps, plan on taking it out to protect your home’s energy performance and indoor air quality. Removing compromised material eliminates health hazards, cuts energy loss, and sets the stage for a safer, more efficient attic—all while keeping utility bills in check.

R-value measures how well insulation resists heat flow—the higher the number, the better it slows heat transfer. The right R-value keeps your home warmer in winter and cooler in summer, saving energy year-round. Match the rating to your climate zone and have a pro verify performance over time, because moisture or settling can lower R-value and cut efficiency.

Attic insulation can stay in place for 80 to 100 years, but its performance often drops after the first 15. As dust, moisture, or mold build up, the material loses R-value and allows heat to escape. Schedule periodic inspections so a pro can tell you when replacement makes sense—helping you keep energy bills down and indoor comfort up.

You can over-insulate an attic. Beyond the recommended R-value, extra layers don’t add efficiency and can trap moisture, leading to mold or reduced performance. A local insulation pro can measure current levels, confirm the right target for your climate, and advise on any adjustments so you avoid future energy or maintenance headaches.

Insulation can be damaged by mold, pests, water leaks, or accidental electrical contact. When the material is compromised, it loses R-value and can introduce health hazards. Removing and replacing affected sections restores efficiency, while routine inspections from a qualified pro help you catch problems early and keep your attic safe and energy-smart.
