"Overpriced! 5 hours spent at our house over 2 days. I didn’t see an itemized list of charges until the receipt after payment. Original estimate was over $2400! I removed items I knew our electrician could do for less. Estimate still $1800, but I thought I’d be happy with the quality. When I received the itemized receipt afterward, I noticed they charged $189 to repair the porch railing. This was minor repair - requiring 1-2 nails in 2 areas total. Buying an air powered nail gun costs less than $189. And they only fixed 1 of the 2 areas, so they didn’t even complete the task. The power washing done before painting the railing was minimal and suboptimal. I immediately contacted Mr. Handyman and was told that my questions would be reviewed. Silence. I’ve had an electrician come to our house- 8 hours of work including the 2 things that I removed from the Handyman list. Their work was more extensive (8 tasks), total charge $650. I’m blown away by how overpriced Mr Handyman is! Beware"

"I hired HM Remodeling to renovate two bathrooms (main and half bath) and have had a very positive experience with this company. I hated the thought of the whole process but realized the time was long overdue to redo my old and tired bathrooms. I called HM Remodeling, and Dave Sipps came to my home, took some pictures, made some suggestions and sent me an estimate the same day. It was a bit over the amount I had budgeted, so he tweaked it a bit to bring it in line. When I requested a formal proposal, I received it the following day, and after accepting the proposal, I met with Mel, the designer, who provided much needed guidance and expertise (since I had no idea what I wanted.) Mel even accompanied us to the flooring store to assist with the selection. Once we selected what we wanted, we were given a start date. The day the project was scheduled, I looked out my front window to see four HM Remodeling vehicles in front of my house. The entire team assembled to review the scope of the project and receive direction. The primary craftsmen who worked on my house were Jesse, Kionte and Ty. These guys were totally professional. They were on the job every day at 8:00, took a short morning break, a twenty minute lunch and worked through until at least 4:00. At the end of each day (after they cleaned ) they showed me what they had done and told me what they planned to do the next day. They paid close attention to detail-even asking me how high I wanted to the towel bars or how wide I wanted the grout line on the floor.) They even reinstalled a toilet every night. I also want to note that Dave (the owner) stopped by several times during the nine days it took to complete the project to check on progress. This project was not without challenges. The discovery of dangerous wiring behind the walls and in the ceiling, moving water lines, replacing walls and old plumbing, the addition of a fan with unique venting requirements are a few among many. Never once did I hear anyone voice frustration, and when I asked Jessie about it, his response was that one of the things he enjoyed about remodeling was that there were always challenges that needed to be addressed. Great answer and attitude. The workmanship is superb, and as a of a total team effort, I am beyond pleased with the end result."

"I ordered kitchen cabinets from cabinets.com and couldn't be happier. The doors and drawers have dampeners as well as dovetails on both the front and rear of the drawers which is unheard of in this price range. Also, Jennifer did a wonderful job helping me with the design and provided great follow-up. Highly recommended!"

"I purchased a cultured marble vanity top with a matching custom side splash. The sink and side splash came together in the same box, not ordered or made separately. The side splash came approximately ¼ inch too high. When I contacted American Kitchen and Bath, I was told that the side splash was within their error tolerance and the incorrect size was not their problem. I had to have the contractor, who was installing the sink, sand the side splash down to fit. I paid $56.00 for the custom side splash and then had to pay the contractor to fix it. I also purchased a cultured marble vanity top with a matching custom side splash from a large box store. The side splash cost $35.00 and fit perfectly."
