"I cannot state how happy I am with the work done by Presidential Exteriors. After not having any luck getting other contractors to do the work I needed done, I became aware of Presidential Exteriors when they completed a siding project at a neighbor’s home. After looking at their reviews online and checking out their website, I contacted them online for a consultation. I was pleasantly surprised to hear from them within 24 hours, and to have a remodeling consultant (Kirill) at my home within a couple of days. Everyone was great to work with, listening to my wants/needs, and helping me with advice on a unique roof drainage issue. The team was also patient with me as I changed my mind a few times. Once the work started, I was even more impressed with them. All of the crews were great to deal with—very polite, courteous, and professional. They kept the workplace clean and kept me informed throughout the project. I try to stay actively involved, and everyone was more than willing to answer my questions and make sure I was happy. The project manager (Ryan) was great to work with and put up with my many questions, as were the people I dealt with at the main office (Tom and Chris). In the end, I was extremely happy with the work done by the crews. I had four doors and three windows replaced (thanks Matt, Eric, Jose, Mike T, Mike, Adam); and siding/trim replaced by Mr. Lee (a true artist in his trade) and Roberto; and various other construction repairs/drywall & painting by Juan and Jorge. I thank each of them and hope that I did not forget anyone. Also, a thank you to Jennifer at the main office who kept things going on the back end. I highly recommend Presidential Exteriors to others—they are a top notch company that genuinely cares about their customers, and have very much deserved the strong ratings they have earned on this site and others. "Chris was excellent.  He was professional and knowledgeable.  Very responsive.  I had a leak in the corner of the master bedroom which had stained.  I described the problem and location to Chris.  He was able to pinpoint the source rather quickly without going in the attic.  He showed me pictures of the problem and described how that type of problem occurs.  Chris repaired it as well as checked for/repaired other loose shingles.  Chris also cleared the gutter and tighten gutter spikes without being asked.  He suggested that I pencil around the stain.  If the stain passes the pencil mark, it would signal that there is still a leak.  So far, no leak!   While he was on my roof, Chris noticed a problem with my neighbor's roof and took pictures so I could show her.  I would definitely contact Chris if another issue occurs and highly recommend his service.

"Quick summary: We could not be happier with the level of service, quality, and professionalism we received from Mackay. We have already recommended them to friends and would wholeheartedly encourage anyone who needs their roof repaired or replaced to retain Mackay. They exceeded all of our expectations.
The gory details: We recently moved into our new home in DC, knowing that the roof on our 1920's rowhouse had the original tin roof that had been poorly maintained. After a moderate rainstorm caused some minor leaking in our second floor ceiling, we realized we couldn't delay the roof project any longer. While we received a few different estimates, Bill Jr. was able to come out the very next morning and actually talked us out of a few of the more expensive fixes as being unnecessary, saving us about $2,500 in the process. Even before we hired him, he also took an extra 20 minutes out of his day and, expertly employing some duct tape and trash bags, MacGyver'ed part of the roof covering that had been missed by the emergency repairman we retained to cover the roof with a tarp. He explained everything clearly and helped us understand why a total roof replacement really was necessary and why a repair would be insufficient. 
If we had picked on convenience and price alone, it would have been an easy choice. They started work the next day which was an unbelievable turnaround from estimate to work, since  most other companies couldn't start work earlier than two weeks out. Their estimate was $1,500 cheaper than the next closest estimate. Not only that, but they included the cost of any roof wood/beam replacements in their estimate, while other roofers gave us conditional pricing estimates and most would not guarantee a total job cost. Not only that, but they finished the whole job--a total roof replacement, including gutters, mansard, some rotted wood (included in the price!), and two skylights--in a single day. The quality of work was top-notch, the new roof looks great, and we have had zero leaks or any other problems, even in crazy downpours.
They weren't just cheaper and faster. Bill Jr and Ben are great guys, they will give you their honest opinion, and they throw in a rocking Canadian accent for free. They did everything they promised and exceeded our expectations in every way. We recommend them unequivocally.

"After receiving bids from several companies, we selected Sunshine Contracting to replace all of the windows in our house with Sunrise windows, do a complete removal and replacement of all of the siding on our “Tudor style” house with James Hardi fiber cement siding, and replace all existing gutters and downspouts. This job was particularly complex due to the style of the house and the multitude of “Tudor style” architectural designs that needed to be maintained and replicated with the James Hardi fiber cement boards. This was also a challenge because the previous trim boards were all rough sawn cedar and the stucco panels and lap siding were vintage 1979 Masonite. The quality of the work performed by Sunshine Contracting was outstanding, and yes, we would contract with them again if we had to do it all over again. Their professional siding craftsmen had experience in re-siding Tudor Style homes and were able to replicate all of the intricate carpentry previously done in the rough sawn cedar with the James Hardi fiber cement board. Any concerns or issues that we raised, were immediately addressed by the team and corrected. The Project Manager and Team Leads were always there and available to us, and answered all of our questions. The whole crew was very professional and friendly, and they did a great job cleaning up after every working day. Sunshine Contracting has now taken us from a home that required outside maintenance on a regular basis, to one that is essentially maintenance free! "George's Painting painted the entire interior of our 4 BR, 3-story house, partially remodeled our master bath and did some repair work, all in one week. There were up to 6 workers in our house at any given time. It was a large job, and both George Sr. and George Jr. were very responsive and professional. We stayed in the house during the job and workers were considerate and courteous.  Price was very fair and we were amazed at the speed with which they worked. Either George Sr or George Jr checked in on the job every day, and both were very responsive when we needed to contact them. There are always problems with this large a job, and these were dealt with quickly and proficiently, even after the job was finished. We would definitely use them again.
