"The Dr. Pavers team did a great job repairing large cracks in my garage floor and walls. They also helped remove an interior cinder block wall and fill the gaps. I am very happy with the efficiency and quality of the work performed and will be using them again in the future."

"The project took much longer than expected to finish because there was a shortage in supplies. As soon as the supplies arrived, Ekram’s team resumed the work right away and worked through cold winter days to complete the project. Ekram is responsive to our requests. The workers are also friendly and professional although they needed reminders to keep the work areas clean sometimes."

"It's been 10 years since MC installed my concrete and it still looks amazing. I recently asked Tony touch up the silicone joints in certain areas that got beaten up from the weather and his response was great. Repaired like new. The overall job back in 2008 was absolutely amazing, he hires only the best masons of course, who know nothing but perfection. The equipment is top of the line and his management of the job is the best. He oversees the entire project to ensure its done absolutely perfect from start to finish. Usually done within one day your property gets a much needed face-lift by the mid to late afternoon. Please understand that the level of service is amazing, not rushed, the crew along with trucks and equipment arrive ready to work and transition your worn cracked old concrete into a stunning new pitch perfect masterpiece, with the MezzaCappa Swirl! Rock solid indeed. You're not likely to find a service that can meet his level of performance, quality and PRICE! I highly recommend you consider and book MC for your concrete, stone, and masonry work, you will not be disappointed!"

Kevin Dulio has been involved in the landscape industry for over 20 years. He was interested in horticulture in high school and decided to make it his career. While studying horticulture at Delaware Valley College, he worked at two garden centers to increase his knowledge of plant material. After graduating in 2000 with a B.S. in Ornamental Horticulture & Environmental Design, he managed a garden center in Sussex County, New Jersey. After a few years, he then became a branch manager for a landscape management firm in Warren County, New Jersey. In 2006, Kevin decided it was time to take his years of knowledge and experience in landscape management and start Native Fields Landscaping, LLC. Since his background was in landscape design, he decided to focus his business design/build and lawn maintenance. As the housing market took a downward turn, he regrouped and focused on lawn maintenance in order to control the rising costs of running a business. After six years being in business, Native Fields Landscaping, LLC is now specializing in the maintenance and snow/ice management of HOA (Home Owner Associations) in Morris, Warren, Sussex and Passaic Counties New Jersey for over 2,500 townhome units.

"I hired Stonegate to totally redo a bad stucco job by a different contractor. My stucco around the garage had cracks and blotches from where the other contractor did sloppy work. He took the time to repair any cracks that developed, evened out the mounds of concrete from other contractor and re-stuccoed the whole wall and inside walls to look brand new. Would highly recommend him. His workers are professional, pleasant, helpful and really take care to make sure the job is done right."

"Use Fix a Roof. James the owner is always on site making sure that the job is done correctly. And James says what he will do and does what he says he will do. The pricing is very fare and a good value for the work that is done. Just completed in Sheepshead Bay in Brooklyn on 4/14/23 Fix a Roof also does amny other home contracting repairs. "This review is long overdue. I contacted Sealpro Mahwah because I have seen their work in several driveways in the neighborhood. I can literally see why they are recommended. Their work looked very good on every driveway that i saw. I contacted the business and response time was very good. I spoke w Lou and he was upfront, honest and very nice. We discussed work that needed to be done- sealcoating and crack fills. We were able to negotiate the quote. I admit the quote was not the lowest of the three bids I received from companies BUT Lou seemed the most upfront of what we could expect. I was comfortable on price we landed on and very happy I went with SealPro. I have recommended to my neighbors and would use them again. Thank you to Lou, his crew and everybody at SealPro."

FAQs for gravel or loose fill paving install, spread or scrape projects in Bronx, NY

To calculate how much pea gravel you need for your project, multiply the length, width, and depth of the area you want to cover to find the volume in cubic feet. Then, divide that number by 27 to convert it to cubic yards to determine the amount of pea gravel you need.

A yard of pea gravel weighs about 1.3 tons or 2,600 pounds. Keep in mind that wet gravel weighs more than dry, and different types of gravel can vary in weight. For example, due to its density, river rock weighs significantly more than crushed stone and pea gravel.

The ideal depth for pea gravel depends on the type and size of your project. You'll need at least two to three inches for walkways and patios and a minimum of six inches for driveways to support heavy vehicles and prevent shifting over time. Aim for a depth of three to four inches in decorative garden beds or drainage areas.

Pea gravel is attractive, versatile, and low-maintenance. It provides excellent drainage, making it ideal for pathways, driveways, and garden beds. On the downside, its sharp texture isn't ideal for bare feet, and it can be challenging to weed or remove once installed. It can also shift underfoot without proper edging, creating an uneven surface.

Alternative landscaping materials you can use instead of pea gravel include wood chips, decomposed granite, crushed stone, pebbles, quartz, mulch, sand, and river rock. These materials offer different aesthetics, performance, and costs, so it’s important to do your research to determine which one best fits your landscape design and budget.

Many homeowners choose pea gravel because it requires minimal upkeep compared to other landscaping materials. You'll need to rake it occasionally to redistribute the stones and maintain an even surface. Pros also recommend installing weed barrier fabric beneath the gravel to prevent unwanted growth, although some weeds may still appear over time.
