"Avoid this company at all costs?.over priced front door. Installed incorrectly, wrong color, not what I wanted from the get go?to cut costs, they changed from a fiberglass door to a steel door (which caused a problem due to southern exposure & door becoming extremely hot to the point of burning fingers) & changed the colors. Door had drafts as not hung correctly. Came back & corrected the type of door to fiberglass (at an additional cost), corrected the colors, tried to correct the door so there were no drafts, but the door creaks & squeaks & it drives me crazy. No amount of WD-40 or silicone spray helps. Emailed the company about correcting this with no response whatsoever."

"My comments are on the BBB page ED is not a MAN! of his word there was so many things that needed fixing and he never came back to fix he also hired Mexicans to do my steps both sides of my house which they left water bottles pieces of the remainder of the steps they did not need under the steps and covered the sides my front porch you can see some of the insulation he supposed to come back and fix my house is white and slate and where the poles are that are connected to the overhead roof there is two plain wood blocks up there totally noticeable they should?ve been painted white he said he?ll come back and take care of that didn?t happen when he finished the vinyl siding, he said if I hire him to do my steps, he will do the roof that?s in the back of my house for free. He has not done that he told me it will cost $16,500 for my steps he was filling out the contract, he added $1000 more without even telling me I noticed that and spoke on it. He said the extra was for materials. "

"I had a terrible experience with Roofers Edges & Siding Inc. We decided to replace the roof for solar system, and hired them to do the job. Remember: you are not hiring Kevin but his crew!!! The communication was extremely poor. At first, despite Kevin agreeing to use an ice shield for the front of my house, his crew was unaware of this requirement. I saw they are using the wrong material, and I had to contact Kevin at the installation day to ensure they were doing the job correctly. It was frustrating that the crew couldn't understand English, and Kevin himself never showed up at my house after the initial estimate. To make matters worse, the roof replacement resulted in a severe water leak problem between my chimney and roof. I asked them to fix it, but they failed once and never showed up again even though they provided an one-year warranty. At very beginning, I fully trusted them, and didn't check regularly, eventually I found the leaking problem persisted several months after the replacement the roof! Despite numerous attempts to contact Kevin, he consistently failed to respond to my calls and texts. Instead, he tried to blame the issue on a chimney problem, and told me they can do a water test, but that never happens. I eventually had to hire a new company to look into it, and they found out that the FLASHING was NOT INSTALLED CORRECTLY!!! and I can see the sky from my attic. I had to pay extra money to redo the flashing job, and Roofers Edges & Siding already lost my trust. The lack of professionalism continued when they claimed to have applied for a permit for the job, and I trusted them. However, several months later, I found out that there was no record of the application with the town. When I contacted them, they said the issue is an incorrect address, how un-professional they are! Overall, I would not recommend Roofers Edges & Siding Inc to anyone. Their poor communication, lack of professionalism, and shoddy workmanship were unacceptable. If you're looking for a reliable and trustworthy roofer, I suggest you look elsewhere."

"Home repair gone wrong… Do NOT use Connell for any home repairs! If you do make that mistake, do NOT hand over your final payment until ALL work has been completed to your satisfaction. A large dead tree uprooted and fell on the corner of my house during a rainstorm in December 2023. It caused damage to my siding, roof and chimney. A neighbor came to look at the damage and suggested a company to repair the roof and siding. It was Connell Roofing. I had not used them previously and would NEVER use them again for any work! They told me it would take 4-5 days to complete the work. They brought in a dumpster and began setting up their equipment in June 2024. Things seemed to be good. I was working remotely so could monitor the progress. On day 1, I had a woman contractor ask if she could use my toilet. Then the next day the same thing. Then a man asked to use my toilet. I decided to call the head company and they told me that workers should be going to the bathroom when they leave my house for their lunch break. In the 7 days that they worked on my house, they NEVER left for lunch. They were there at 7:00 am and left around 7:00-30 pm. When I went downstairs to my kitchen, I several times witnessed male workers walking towards the woods on the side and rear of my property looking over their shoulders. Then I saw them at least twice standing in the woods on my property about 25-50 feet from my lawn urinating. I reported that to Connell. You would think that if a company was going to spend 5 days working at your house they would bring a port-o-potty. I can only imagine them defecating in my woods had I not been working from home. Who knows, they may have done that while I was not looking. I prefer NOT to think about it. They played a boom box super loud! Even with my windows closed and A/C on, it was noisy to work in my office. One of my neighbors actually moved out of their house on the 3rd day and did not return until after the work was finished. The workers worked too long a day. I am used to getting things done after work in the evening in my yard like mowing and gardening, but that was all but impossible with the crew working until 7:30 pm each night. To replace my roof, they needed to remove all the old nails. Although they used a tarp to catch them as they were removed, and a magnetic equipment on wheels to gather them each night, I spent the next several months picking up nails all over my yard which must have numbers at least 200! I have a 9 year old daughter who often runs in the grass barefoot. I could only imagine the hospital visit if and bill if she stepped on one and it went through her heel. I have a small mudroom in which I built a beautiful wooden bench that I stained. When the men came in to reside that area (it was previously sided by the former owner), I watched one man feel how smooth the bench surface was. The workers then proceeded to stand on the bench the next 2 days working without a blanket and scuffed the heck out of the surface! I had to sand it several times and recoat it, but the dents and scrapes will remain. All of my gutters and downspouts needed to be replaced. It sounds easy to put 2 pieces of gutter pipes together, but if your workers are not properly trained, and there is a lack of supervision and inspection by Connell, problems will arise. The day the gutters were finished we had a heavy downpour. I went outside to see how the new gutters held up. The one by the garage was gushing water out of its sides for who knows why. When I looked a little closer I could see that the pipes were connected backwards, so the top piece was outside the bottom piece. Had that gutters been inspected, the problem would have been noticed before it rained. Although the workers used a tarp to shield my front door while removing the old siding, they did not protect when they put the new siding up. I had scuffs all over my black door so it needed to be repainted. When Connell sent a painter, he was not a professional. He clearly missed spots with the brush, and you could see that he did not have enough paint on his roller when he rolled the paint on. I called Connell several times then and then months later to get it repainted again. A few days after he painted it, the paint started shipping off. I had not touched it, not had there been a storm, it just was not painted right. 14 months of excuses and my door remains unfinished. I wanted to delay a portion of my final payment at the end of work in June 2024 until my door had been repainted to my satisfaction, but was heavily pressured to pay every penny then, and was guaranteed that the repair would be made to my satisfaction and soon. The workers in the head office talk a good game and are great at making excuses for their workers’ work but are slow/unresponsive to fix problems. Final opinion: DO NOT USE CONNELL FOR ANY REPAIR WORK."

FAQs for asphalt shingle roofing installation and replacement projects in Brookline Village, MA

Roofing professionals can usually install a medium-sized asphalt shingle roof in two to three days. Installation time increases if your roof is particularly steep or difficult to access or has features like chimneys or skylights that roofers must work around.

Three-tab asphalt shingles usually have the lowest upfront cost of any roofing shingle material. They’re sturdy and typically last 15 to 20 years. However, they may have a shorter lifespan in especially hot or cold climates. Talk to a local roofing professional about the best materials for your climate. In some cases, materials with a higher upfront cost may save you more on repairs or replacements in the long run.

Start by multiplying the length by the width of your roof to calculate the square footage. Most shingle replacement costs $4 to $12 per square foot for materials and labor, depending on factors like the material and the slope of your roof. Once you know the size of your roof, you can calculate a rough estimate of total costs or contact a local roofing professional to provide you with a custom quote.

Asphalt shingles are generally considered to be a low-maintenance item. However, cleaning your asphalt roofing can help prolong the lifespan and keep it looking fresh. If you’re comfortable with DIY and have the proper equipment, you may be able to clean your asphalt shingles yourself. However, if you have an especially high or steep roof, it’s usually safer to hire a professional roof cleaner.
