Small jobs welcome

"We are very happy with the work. They came on time were pleasant to deal with and did beautiful job for our driveway and walkway. We had to replace our cracked concrete. They suggested for Paver Stones and they worked out very well. We are happy and would call them again for other work very soon. "

"We hired Sealpro to seal our driveway and install a drain in front of our garage. We were very pleased with the work done. Lou was great to deal with. He was easy to communicate with and was very professional. He made sure that we, as his clients, were satisfied with the job done."

"Given the quarantine, I embarked on a mission to update the curb appeal of my house...as soon as the landscaping sector reopened I solicited estimates for the removal of my existing lawn and replacement with new sod as well as extending the drainage from a dead leader at the front of my house to the street. Sagona has done both cement (sidewalks, apron and a wall) and sod work for me in the past; so, of course, I included them. Most of the estimates came in around $2400-2500...he was a little higher than that but he ended up working with me on the pricing. One of the points that bothered me about the other estimates was that every one said that they would not be responsible for any damage done to the less than one year old sidewalks Sagona had installed for me. I knew, just based upon their past work and ethos, that regardless of who had installed them or how old they were, they would take care to not damage them. That might be a hint to some contractorss, btw, that you don't tell a homeowner there's a good chance you're going to damage something but "So what?" They showed up on time on the appointed day and went right to work...the old lawn was removed in good order...the trench was dug for the drain...the remaining soil was turned....mega amounts of top soil was wheel barrowed in, contoured and then made ready for the sod which was then laid perfectly...there at 8...gone by 5...beautiful new lawn installed with care... Again, they won't be the lowest estimate but I have yet to choose a lowest estimate and not gotten burned by it...as it is with anything...you get what you pay for and when it comes to Sagano...their work is worth every penny and more..."

"It's been 10 years since MC installed my concrete and it still looks amazing. I recently asked Tony touch up the silicone joints in certain areas that got beaten up from the weather and his response was great. Repaired like new. The overall job back in 2008 was absolutely amazing, he hires only the best masons of course, who know nothing but perfection. The equipment is top of the line and his management of the job is the best. He oversees the entire project to ensure its done absolutely perfect from start to finish. Usually done within one day your property gets a much needed face-lift by the mid to late afternoon. Please understand that the level of service is amazing, not rushed, the crew along with trucks and equipment arrive ready to work and transition your worn cracked old concrete into a stunning new pitch perfect masterpiece, with the MezzaCappa Swirl! Rock solid indeed. You're not likely to find a service that can meet his level of performance, quality and PRICE! I highly recommend you consider and book MC for your concrete, stone, and masonry work, you will not be disappointed!"

"Anthony is an artist with a specific touch for working with stone or any type of masonry material. He shows up on time. Works a full day and wont leave until you are satisfied. I have contracted him for over a dozen jobs over the course of 15yr time period and they are all standing today. You will not find a better value or longer lasting stone project then what he can provide. I will attach some pics of the latest work he did for me which in pretty much sums up his high level of craftmanship."

"Our 1925 corner lot building needed immediate repairs. The metal cornice and it’s existing paint was flaking away and few cracks and dings. Innovation team came and scraped away all loose paints. They have also used bondo for all holes and cracks on the cornice. The primer was applied and then final coat took place. The color and their final finish was amazing! Thanks Innovation."

FAQs for gravel or loose fill paving install, spread or scrape projects in Brooklyn, NY

To calculate how much pea gravel you need for your project, multiply the length, width, and depth of the area you want to cover to find the volume in cubic feet. Then, divide that number by 27 to convert it to cubic yards to determine the amount of pea gravel you need.

A yard of pea gravel weighs about 1.3 tons or 2,600 pounds. Keep in mind that wet gravel weighs more than dry, and different types of gravel can vary in weight. For example, due to its density, river rock weighs significantly more than crushed stone and pea gravel.

The ideal depth for pea gravel depends on the type and size of your project. You'll need at least two to three inches for walkways and patios and a minimum of six inches for driveways to support heavy vehicles and prevent shifting over time. Aim for a depth of three to four inches in decorative garden beds or drainage areas.

Pea gravel is attractive, versatile, and low-maintenance. It provides excellent drainage, making it ideal for pathways, driveways, and garden beds. On the downside, its sharp texture isn't ideal for bare feet, and it can be challenging to weed or remove once installed. It can also shift underfoot without proper edging, creating an uneven surface.

Alternative landscaping materials you can use instead of pea gravel include wood chips, decomposed granite, crushed stone, pebbles, quartz, mulch, sand, and river rock. These materials offer different aesthetics, performance, and costs, so it’s important to do your research to determine which one best fits your landscape design and budget.

Many homeowners choose pea gravel because it requires minimal upkeep compared to other landscaping materials. You'll need to rake it occasionally to redistribute the stones and maintain an even surface. Pros also recommend installing weed barrier fabric beneath the gravel to prevent unwanted growth, although some weeds may still appear over time.
