We meet with our general contractor, Geoff Clore, who listened carefully to our wants and budget. It was through his insight and working on many other projects with Monty Miller of Nix Miller Designs and Cabinetry would have be the best person to bring on board to assist us with this transformation. Monty came to our home and he listened to what we wanted in our new kitchen. As you are making your decision, it is very important for you to know Nix/Miller has on staff cabinet installer who did an excellent installation. Even weeks after the original installation a few drawers and doors needed adjustment. One call and Bill come out and made the necessary adjustments. "Veronica came out and explained to me which blinds would work in our very large arched window in our bedroom.  I had been told by another company that what I wanted was impossible, and Valerie told me it was possible and she did it!  I had cellular, light blocking shades installed on the arched window and the regular large window below.  They look incredible!  When the arched blind did not retract fully to the bottom of the window, she came up with a solution on inserting rods into the shades and it now works like a charm.  It keeps the room dark, and in the summer it also kept it cool, which had always been a problem.  When the string on the lower shade broke last month, I just contacted her and a new one was made, shipped and installed by Tommy in no time.  Would definitely call on them again! <br />"

"Erik was hired to install IKEA cabinets in our home for a full kitchen renovation. I felt confident in assembling the cabinets and finishing them (doors, hardware, drawers, toe kicks, etc) but we wanted a professional to make sure the cabinets were hung level, plumb, and square. From our first conversation it was obvious that Erik is an expert in all things IKEA. He provided some guidance and changes to our design to make some subtle improvements that would not have been obvious to us. He also immediately identified a critical flaw in our design that would have greatly impacted the final outcome but luckily we had enough time to get the proper replaced item. Communication with Erik was decent but be prepared for patience with emails and texts. Phone calls seemed to be most effective. Also be prepared to be patient for his schedule. Despite our efforts to plan ahead and get on “his radar” back in July, it still took several rounds of calls and discussions to finally get a week nailed down and the arrival day wasn’t determined until the week-of. You will need to be flexible. The installation was very fast - he had all of the work completed in one day. He is also very precise and detailed. He took time to show me how cabinets were anchored to the wall, that cabinets were level and prepped for the countertop template. He also cleaned up nicely, was courteous in our home and has a professional demeanor. The installation wasn’t without issue though. He accidentally stepped on a weak piece of our corner cabinet and broke it. His solution was to “sister” a piece below it. I was told it wouldn’t affect the countertops as this had no load bearing properties and it won’t be visible once countertops are installed. I believe that he is correct, and accidents happen, but it was disappointing as mishaps was something I wanted to avoid and large reason why we elected to hire someone rather than do the installation ourselves. No adjustment was made to the agreed upon price to account for the broken cabinet which I felt would have been the appropriate thing to do even it was a minor reduction. Overall, I would hire Erik again and be better prepared to be patient and clearly a communicate my expectations. He is precise, detailed, and very knowledgeable on IKEA systems. His involvement resulted in a nice overall outcome."
