"Other inspectors in my area didn't offer Radon and Mold.  Instead of having to hire two inspectors to get all the tests I wanted, I was able to get everything in one stop.  Dan was very thorough, explained everything in detail and was extremely knowledgeable about all aspects of the inspection.  He pointed out issues that could have snuck up on us in the future and cost us thousands.  He pointed out local regulation violations as well as state violations so that we knew what was priority in fixing.  He was open, honest and offered tips on replacing/repairing certain items.  <br /> He tested the septic and pointed out that after 60 gallons of water he was seeing the dye.  He explained that normally a good septic system wouldn't see dye until after 300 gallons.  He tore apart the spring house in order to look at all areas of the water running through it.  He pointed out areas of concern and what to watch for in the future, but explained that it won't be an issue.  He pointed out that the roof needed replaced and explained in detail what to look for as far as the shingles curling.  He also pointed out that the OSB under the roof was in perfect condition.  He cautioned us that some contractor may tell us we need to replace the board as well and showed my husband in detail that this was not the case, we only needed to put new shingles up.  He pointed out leaks in the propane lines, water lines, and minor electrical issues that needed repaired.  He explained what the code was and why everything needed repaired or replaced.  He also added what level of priority was and that some things could wait and others could not. <br /> He was very thorough and complete.  My husband was very impressed and said he was very pleasant to work with. <br />"

"Recently our radon mitigation system lost its vacuum pressure. We called the company that installed the system only to discover it had gone out of business. We turned to SWAT Environmental because of its listing and rating on Angie’s List. The customer service team is first rate…a person answered my call, no voice mail. A visit by a technician was scheduled for the following day. The service date was confirmed with a follow-up e-mail. The technician was knowledgeable, punctual, courteous and friendly. He quickly diagnosed the problem as a lose vent pipe joint. He put a sturdy sleeve on the joint and replaced the pipe strapping. The system now works as it should. We will be sure to use SWAT the next time we have a problem."

"After moving into my home, I realized water was coming into my basement. I had three companies come out to provide estimates to waterproof the basement. Allstate's salesperson, Mitch, was very, very personable, knowledgeable and I felt like he really listened to me during the estimate process. Mitch brought pictures with him to show me as well as the company's certifications. Allstate's price was in the middle of the pack of three estimates. Mitch's preparedness was what won me over. Allstate came to my home to install a French drain (along two walls of the basement) and install a sump pump. The workers arrived promptly at 8am, had the containment up in the basement, and were jack hammering by 8:20. About midway through the project, Mitch stopped by to check and see how things were going. As previously stated, I don't have any complaints about the workers what-so-ever. They even stopped worked twice so I could come down to the basement to take pictures of water and mold damage. For the water intrusion and mold in my basement to have been such a traumatic experience, Allstate certainly made the nightmare better than bearable."

"<br /> Basements Love US came out in a terrible rain storm to address a water leak in my concrete basement. They identified two areas of trouble; my patio slab connected to the back of my basement and two vertical cracks 10 feet high.  They poured concrete and replaced the slab including a bell drain for drainage which came out very nice. Even built a stair that leads to the sliding glass patio.  They repaired the vertical crack by digging down to the bottom of my wall (excavated) and they used this waterproof gel, then filled the space back with dirt. It looks very nice. The waterproofing and concrete work came with a warranty which gave me comfort. They also sprayed the basement with a mold remediation product and did an OZONE treatment to purify the air. FAQs for toxicity and mold removal projects in Brownsville, PA

Remediation should keep mold from returning as long as the moisture source is eliminated. Fix leaks, control humidity, and replace water-damaged materials, then schedule periodic inspections to stay ahead of new growth. With those safeguards, your home can stay mold-free for the long haul while protecting both health and property value.

Most pros recommend leaving the home while they work on mold remediation. Removing mold stirs up airborne spores that can aggravate respiratory issues, and contractors can work more efficiently in an empty space. A short, temporary relocation keeps everyone in your family safe and lets the crew finish the job without interruption.

Mold shouldn’t return once the moisture problem is fixed. Stay vigilant: repair leaks right away, keep humidity below 50 percent with a dehumidifier placed in damp areas, and improve ventilation where needed. Routine checks for leaks and mold and quick repairs go a long way toward keeping your home mold-free.

Mold spores can trigger nasal congestion, throat irritation, coughing, wheezing, eye irritation, or skin rashes. People with asthma, allergies, or weakened immune systems often feel the effects sooner and more intensely. Some molds also release mycotoxins linked to serious respiratory or neurological issues. Swift remediation and better ventilation are the best defenses.
