"We called them due to concerns about potential mold in our son's bedroom. They came, tested, and the results were negative for problematic mold/air. In an industry rife with con artists, this was very refreshing. Highly recommend!"

"We called Capital Mold because there was a musty odor in our guest room. Murray and his associate came out the next business day and did a mold inspection of our entire house. They were able to locate the source of the odor which fortunately wasn’t mold! Extremely kind, responsive, and professional. If we ever get mold (hopefully never the case), we are calling Murray and his team ASAP!"

"Val was very responsive even before he arrived... replying to an email question and setting up an appointment. Very professional and an excellent job cleaning the vents. There was no mold in one system and minor mold in the main system, so we had that attended to at a fair price. He recommended an ultraviolet light to prevent mold in the future... wasn't pushy... and we plan to get it from them in the future. Additionally, we had some 1st floor toilet problems and were planning to contact a plumber next week. He noticed 2 minor leaks in the basement so we called the plumber today... which may have been a much bigger issue next week. We'll definitely recommend this company to friends and will definitely use them again."

"I searched Google for a mold cleanup company after a water leak in a bathroom. I called and workers were sent to my home the next morning. The job took a total of 3 days. All of the work was great. The supervisor even located mold in an unrelated area of the house. He pointed it out to me and vowed they would fit it. This was no easy job. Not only did they fix the leak and mold, they fixed the unrelated mold area and discovered the cause of the mold and ended up replacing the leaking toilet. Top notch. Went above and beyond. Canâ t thank the guys enough. I e we oils them again and I would refer them to friends and family members."

"We hired Mighty in 2020 for soot removal after a kitchen pot caused smoke to accumulate all over the apartment. Mighty did an excellent job. They arrived promptly to inspect the damage and did a thorough clean up. I highly recommend them."

"We received an asbestos inspection/test for our old plaster walls and ceiling areas. The turn around times were fantastic - inspector was in our area and able to fit us in the same day I called. Sample results and accompanying lab report were emailed within 36 hours. All samples were analyzed by a local lab accredited under the NIST NVLAP Asbestos Fiber Analysis Lab Accreditation Program, so I felt comfortable trusting the results. The inspector seemed very knowledgeable and helped walk us through any areas that could be of concern. Thankfully all samples were negative, but the modest inspection and sampling fees were well worth the piece of mind during our remodel. In short, I highly recommend this company for asbestos testing/inspections."

FAQs for toxicity and mold removal projects in Washington DC, DC

Remediation should keep mold from returning as long as the moisture source is eliminated. Fix leaks, control humidity, and replace water-damaged materials, then schedule periodic inspections to stay ahead of new growth. With those safeguards, your home can stay mold-free for the long haul while protecting both health and property value.

Most pros recommend leaving the home while they work on mold remediation. Removing mold stirs up airborne spores that can aggravate respiratory issues, and contractors can work more efficiently in an empty space. A short, temporary relocation keeps everyone in your family safe and lets the crew finish the job without interruption.

Mold shouldn’t return once the moisture problem is fixed. Stay vigilant: repair leaks right away, keep humidity below 50 percent with a dehumidifier placed in damp areas, and improve ventilation where needed. Routine checks for leaks and mold and quick repairs go a long way toward keeping your home mold-free.

Mold spores can trigger nasal congestion, throat irritation, coughing, wheezing, eye irritation, or skin rashes. People with asthma, allergies, or weakened immune systems often feel the effects sooner and more intensely. Some molds also release mycotoxins linked to serious respiratory or neurological issues. Swift remediation and better ventilation are the best defenses.
