"FHIA replaced 17 windows and my front door with a side light. I rate them #3, because for the most part the project is getting done; however, the project started in April of 2025...due to factory corrections that were required. We're still waiting on them to finish and have the inspection done. I've already started making payments on this project with the hope they'll finish soon. There were hiccups with installation from the startup and ongoing with the various teams that would show up either with the wrong equipment or lacking what was needed to complete the job. Continue to find screws in my driveway after every visit. On the last visit my camera caught the team dumping their uneaten lunch scraps on my front lawn. If they would have asked there's a compost bin in the back they could have used for that. Because of these hiccups and various others incidents that occurred in addition to the length of time this project is taking to complete I rate them #3. I'll upload photos later."

"David Hughes took the time to check out my roof after a hail storm and explained a lot of great information. He's was incredibly thorough, punctual and honest. He even came back after the crew was done installing our new roof with his magnet sweeper and went around our house even after it was done by the crew that did the work. Without a doubt I would highly recommend David at Total Home Roofing."

"They came, measured, purchased, installed and cleaned up everything within 1 day so I could leave before the Hurricane got there. If that was not enough, I was planning to come back afterwards and they called me and asked if I wanted boards removed, so when I got back the next day all the boards were gone, stacked and labeled on the side of the house. I used him again a few weeks later as we had yet another hurricane but this time I stayed in town, but still had them removed the day I cam back from the southside."

"Replaced all the screens and the door hardware. He arrived on schedule for the estimate and on the day of installation. The final cost was exactly what he estimated and the price was very fair. It was a small job and the owner did the work himself. He arrived on time, did the job, cleaned up and was done in 2 hours. Phil takes pride in the quality of his work and the reputation of his company, and it shows. The screens are all very tight with no sag. Very pleased with the results."

"Excellent work. We purchased natural cherry cabinets in shaker style, with the panels made of solid wood rather than veneer. That is more difficult work, as each panel has to be constructed from several planks. Moreover, the clear finish would leave any flaws more visible. Simply put, the doors are beautiful--flawless in both construction and finish. They are similar in quality to custom cherry furniture we own."

"The sales experienced was good. He provided a good demonstration and was knowledgeable in the products. He wasn't pushy. The installers were tentative to my needs and the work was done well."

"Smooth Move and cleaning did a excellent job on mounting my tv and installing 2 ceiling fans. Blair and Shantel are a excellent pair. They work well together, did everything in a timely manner. And kept me posted on the job at hand. This is my third time using them. I have other projects in the works with them. Definitely give them a call. You won't be disappointed."

"Sam is a real find as not only does he show up on time, but he is totally focused on making his customer happy. He does quality work and is very clean and tidy. Sam went out of his way for me to find a match for my front and patio doors. This involved multiple trips to find a paint match and just when I was ready to give up, he found an exact match for my doors. He is a jack of all trades. Would definitely hire again."

FAQs for storm door installation projects in Bryceville, FL

For mobile homes, look for a lightweight storm door designed specifically for manufactured housing. A slimmer frame eases installation and reduces added stress on the doorway, while removable glass or screen panels allow you to switch between airflow and complete protection in minutes. The result is solid weather defense without unnecessary weight and a door that remains easy to operate season after season.

A well-installed and well-maintained storm door can add modest value by improving curb appeal, increasing security, and reducing energy loss. If the door is faded, dented, or hanging loosely, those benefits disappear—and may even harm first impressions. Professional installation ensures the door seal is correctly aligned and keeps the hardware in place, allowing the upgrade to deliver both visual and practical benefits that buyers notice.

Most storm doors last 25 years, and high-end models, when properly cared for, can reach 50 years. Lifespan depends on the frame material, glass quality, and the amount of punishment the door receives from wind, rain, or sun. Regular cleaning, fresh weatherstripping, and prompt repairs keep hinges tight and glass secure, helping the door reach its maximum lifespan.

Allow three to five hours to set a standard pre-hung storm door if the opening is in good condition. If you need to widen the frame or repair wood rot, expect the job to take a whole day to complete. A seasoned installer can complete the job faster and ensure the door sits square, seals tightly, and operates smoothly, saving time that often outweighs the DIY time commitment.

Most single exterior doorways can accommodate a storm door, provided the frame dimensions match those of the new unit. Patio and sliding glass doors are the main exceptions because their tracks won’t support the extra door. If you’re unsure about clearances or hinge placement, consider bringing in a door installer to measure the opening and recommend any necessary adjustments for a secure fit.
