"Larry came out to look at the job of a basement remodel and immediately noticed the beam issue before we said anything. We decided at this time to just fix the support structure. We eventually want a wall under one beam but we wanted to leave the other part of the room open. Larry came out and used jacks to straighten out the beams and then built a wall under the one beam that will be finished in a future job and then braced and supported the open beam.He used an LVL beam the proper size and length and built up the column to make the house sound again. Very knowledgeable and we would highly recommend Lar-Con."

"In searching around Atlanta area for an engineer to evaluate the structural changes needed for a remodel, I came across Southern Contracting. With numerous excellent reviews and high ratings from prior jobs I had to reach out. The turnaround for the initial appointment was quick. Jeff arrived and we walked thru the parameters of the remodel and what it would take to achieve it, the kickoff being that the support posts in my basement needed to be moved, but the span difference would require a different type of support, being as it is on the spine of my ranch home. The estimate arrived within days & was comfortable enough to my budget that I agreed to begin. Even with the schedule being a couple weeks out, contact was made by Southern Contracting several times to assure and remind me of the work to come. The team arrived on schedule and set to work installing a metal I-beam system and metal support posts (formerly 4x4 wood) that would allow our remodel to be what we dreamed of. Though scheduled for several days to complete, Jeff's team worked diligently & professionally to finish the job in one full day. Some metal work had to be done on site, but the guys spent nearly an hour after completion making sure that no shavings were left behind, no matter how teeny. Payment due upon completion & satisfaction, I was happy to pass along the funds. Jeff & Debra followed up several times to ensure not only my family, but the house was comfortable with the new support system. as an additional note : Southern Contracting was one of the few companies that returned my call, was one of two that actually came to the house, was the most informative, friendliest and was the only one under $10,000"

"P.K. Masonry arrived at my home on three different days on time, ready and willing to start the work. I was impressed how carefully he measured and drew out the plans for the fireplace. On my fireplace install PK was always concerned with what I was asking for, and listened to what I had to say. We didn't always agree, but he showed great patience dealing with me who knows nothing about what it takes to build a fireplace. I love my new fireplace that he built and will enjoy owning it for years to come. I definitely would hire PK again and have a job for him, planned for the future."

"Roof was the first task. We made the contract on a Thursday and the crew was there at 7 am on the following Monday. Work was completed in one day and the cleanup was immaculate. I found only one nail on the ground afterwards. The quality of the work left nothing to be desired. This was NOT due to an insurance claim but only because the roof needed to be replaced due to age. <br /> The gutter/leaf guard task was next. Also went without a hitch. These people took care of fascia and soffit repairs as well. I found a couple of additional areas later that needed to be repaired and those were done as requested. <br /> Our front porch railing had a few spindles that were rotting as well as the bottom of one of the posts so I asked for the whole railing to be replaced and the post to be fixed. The railing was replaced and the one post was not only repaired but the other two posts were fixed to imitate the the looks of the post that really needed the repairs. A nice touch. <br /> I had contacted the company via Angie's List e-mail on a Sunday afternoon and already the same evening Russell called me back. He came by on Tuesday to take a look at what we wanted to have done and on Thursday we decided to go with Braswell Construction for this project. Russell was well-prepared when he came by and the quote was in the expected range. Work was done very professionally and on schedule. <br />"
