"Noah and his colleagues were on time! Very professional and were able to complete the garage door installation in a timely manner. They also helped set up the app to control the garage wirelessly. They were very patient in helping me understand how to use the remotes. My wife and I were very happy with them!"

"We were hesitant to call Sears due to experience s at Sears retail stores. But their reviews were good and we wanted to get 3 estimates for our new doors. Sears far exceeded the other 2. They were the only ones who provided a brochure and actual samples that we could examine. The estimator took time to explain options and pricing was in line with the others. Their customer service could not have been better. They were prompt and kept in contact every step of the way. I highly recommend this group. Every contractor experience should be this good"

"Great experience overall. The technician showed up on time, explained what was wrong with the garage door opener, and repaired it efficiently. The door now opens/closes smoothly and the opener is working perfectly. They were courteous, kept the area clean, and the price matched what was discussed. I would hire them again."

FAQs for garage door opener repair or adjustment projects in Burbank, IL

Garage door costs range somewhat broadly, depending on the type you choose. However, you’ll also need to factor in labor costs, which vary from state to state and between pros.

A chain driven operator costs between $150 - $250. For a belt driven operator it is usually $160 - $450. A screw-driven operator is between $250-$500.

To keep garage door opener repair costs down, you should check that the whole apparatus is working normally on a regular basis. This means making sure that the tracks of your door are greased and fully operational, and that the door itself is in good condition.

Installing a new garage door opener runs from $250 to $500 at least. If your repair costs are close in cost to that range or if your garage door is 10 to 15 years old, you should probably replace it instead of repair.

However, it’s a better idea to fix your garage door opener if it’s less than eight years old or if repair costs are less than replacing.

Garage door openers usually last between 10 and 15 years. However, several factors contribute to how long your garage door opener can last. If you schedule regular inspections and practice proper care, you can maximize your garage door opener’s lifespan, saving money in the long run. As a general rule, practice the same care for your garage door opener as you would the door itself.

These tell-tale signs indicate your garage door is going bad, including:

  • Not closing or opening at all

  • The door reversing when you try to open and/or close it

  • Inconsistent opening and closing; more noise than usual (grinding, scraping, or banging)

  • Sticking or stalling when you try to open or close it

If you experience one or more of these signs, it’s time to call a professional garage door repair service.
