"We knew we needed to replace drawer slides and that other drawers needed repair or adjustments. John explained our options. We quickly felt confident that he knew and could explain all the aspects of what could be done. We decided to replace drawer boxes and slides but to hold off on new cabinet doors and drawer fronts. We are super pleased with the work John did. Should we decide to take the next step, we will definitely call him again. Do not think twice. Hire him and you will be happy with your decision."

"We needed our upper cabinet (oak custom cabinets) over our refrigerator modified to accommodate today?s taller refrigerators. Michael had new cabinet doors built and stained to match current cabinets and raised the bottom of the cabinet several inches. I don?t think anyone who didn?t know this work was done could even tell. Amazing work, stellar communication and reasonable price for the quality. Highly recommend and will call him for other work myself!"

"By the time we started demo-ing our kitchen and entryway, I had been in design mode for over a year. I had a specific vision and Steve worked with me until we got it right. After seeing Steve’s cabinets in a neighbor’s house, I knew I wanted the same quality and workmanship. Steve worked with our budget by redesigning the plans several times which included full kitchen cabinetry, a large island, and an entryway bench. I wanted stained cabinets with strong woodgrain and Steve and his finishing team provided multiple samples until I knew it was exactly what I wanted. When the install was done and I saw the kitchen and entry for the first time, I cried. They were exactly what I envisioned and more. They are beautiful and sturdy (the slides are quality--I’ve got them loaded up!) Despite COVID and quarantine, Steve was able to stick to our original install schedule. His team is professional, skilled, and friendly. The money we spent on the cabinets were worth every cent. Six months after our install, I honestly wouldn’t change a thing. I’m as happy tonight, as I write this review, as I was right after the completion of our kitchen. I highly recommend Imperial Custom Cabinetry--you won’t be disappointed!"

"We are very happy with the work that was done by Cabinets for Everyone. We arrived at a new design concept, it was accurately priced by Vlad. The schedule called for the complete project to be done in two weeks and it was. Including installation of our new appliances and re-wiring of cabinet lights. We have recommended this company to many friends who have also had a top notch experience with the Cabinets for Everyone crew. Wilt Berger"

"Sears Home Improvement Products have washers and fittings to repair washing machines and such. The staff seem real knowledgeable and they were friendly with my son when my son was asking the sort of questions he asks everyone! The pricing is reasonable."

"I regret that I can't give Kitchen Renovators higher ratings. Darin Anderson is very personable and does excellent cabinet work. However, my project had a few bumps in the road. I've been slowly updating the galley kitchen in my 1950's era house. I had already replaced the floor, had a combination pantry/desk built, replaced the old water pipes throughout the house with copper, and then purchased a new sink, faucet and countertops. After checking Angie's list, I contacted Kitchen Renovators (Darin Anderson) to install the countertops, which Darin estimated would cost about $500. On September 30th, the date of the scheduled work, Darin called to say that he would be about 30 minutes late. When he arrived, he made a lot of suggestions for improving the usefulness of my kitchen, and showed me photos of his previous work -- all of which were impressive, but many were out of my price range. After consideration, though, I did decide to go ahead with having an existing lower cabinet removed so that the dishwasher could be shifted closer to the sink, having Darin build a new cabinet with two rollout shelves and one drawer, and having two existing small drawers replaced with one larger one. With this additional work, Darin quoted a price of $1500. I gave him a deposit and he did some preliminary work that day. He said he would build the new cabinet and drawer and would contact me in a few weeks about installation. A month later, since I hadn't heard from him, I called Darin about scheduling the rest of the work. We set the appointment for Thursday, November 18th, at 9:30 a.m. At 10:30 a.m. that day, I called Darin. He told me that he'd decided to work a home show at the last minute, and totally forgot our appointment. He offered to come over that same weekend, but I wasn't available. We agreed on Monday, December 6th, and I suggested I call him on Friday, the 3rd, to remind him (which I did). On Monday, Darin called to say that he'd be about 45 minutes late. As he was working that day, he stopped to answer quite a few cell phone calls, which set back the work schedule and ultimately delayed the plumber's work. Before leaving, Darin swept the floor but left sawdust in the drawers and cabinets. He hadn't given me a written estimate, and I specifically asked him for a receipt on 12/6, showing that I had paid in full. He didn't remember the actual numbers that he'd given me, so I looked up the amount of the check I had written for my deposit, and he rounded off numbers from there."

"He has repaired multiple things for me. He is very professional. He recently repaired the bottom of a garage door, but also installed a new fire safety door and did some insulation and woodwork, and repaired a previous workers job. I will be hiring him for additional work for flooring."

FAQs for cabinets repair projects in Burnsville, MN

The timeframe for kitchen cabinet removal varies significantly based on quantity and installation complexity. Professional contractors typically complete standard kitchens within 4 to 8 hours, though complicated configurations involving plumbing or electrical components may extend to 1 to 2 days. Homeowners tackling this as a DIY project should allocate substantially more time—often 1 to 3 full days—as careful extraction requires methodical work to prevent property damage.

Kitchen cabinets can indeed be salvaged for reuse when removed carefully. Construction material significantly impacts success rates—hardwood cabinets generally survive extraction better than composite materials, which tend to chip or break. For optimal preservation, document the original layout, remove doors and hardware first, then methodically detach units from walls and adjacent cabinets. Professional removal significantly increases the likelihood of successful cabinet preservation.

Disposal options for kitchen cabinets depend largely on their condition and your local waste management regulations. Cabinets in reasonable condition might find new homes through donation centers or online marketplaces. For damaged units, professional waste removal services offer convenience, while dumpster rentals provide flexibility for larger projects. Some municipalities offer special collection services for bulky items, though advance scheduling is typically required.

Wall damage during cabinet removal represents a legitimate concern for many homeowners. The risk varies based on installation methods—cabinets attached directly to drywall without backing supports pose greater challenges than properly mounted units. Professional removal minimizes damage through specialized techniques and appropriate tools. Even with careful extraction, expect some minor wall repairs. Older installations and homes with plaster walls require particularly delicate handling to prevent significant damage.
