"The team from StoneCraft LLC did an incredible job restoring our 40 foot tall chimney, pouring a new concrete crown and installing stone veneer and new flashing. The team was professional and quick, going from scaffolding to completion and cleanup in two weeks. The cleanup was so thorough that other than the gorgeous new chimney, you would never even know they had been there. Very, very impressed with the professionalism, workmanship, and communication throughout the process."

"Just hired this company to replace the shingles on my roof. After hiring them to finish my basement and them doing the excellent job with that - there was no hesitation hiring them again. They handled everything from permits - to providing the dumpster and materials. Wayne oversaw all the deliveries and ensured everything was delivered on time - and placed where needed. The workers showed up on time. The office kept me posted of anything unexpectedly found. Unexpected issues were dealt with seamlessly. The work was done quickly and completed in one day. They left the area spotless. Again, they are the only contractors I would have working on my house. Very reliable and professional - easy communication, expectations are again set ahead of time (and met)."

"DAFi Construction replaced our old retaining wall and steps. The old wall and steps were made with treated lumber that was falling apart. DAFI Construction installed a new treated lumber retaining wall with proper rock fill and landscaping paper behind the wall for drainage and replaced the old steps with stone blocks. They did an excellent job! One thing that I like very much is that the lead person, Darwin, was easy to work with and was present on the jobsite working with the rest of the crew 95% of the time! He is a true perfectionist."

"I moved permanently to PA last year (2014) and had been using Waste Management for weekly garbage pickup.  I did not want to have to haul my garbage cans 300 feet to the public road.  Fade is amazing.  This winter was horrible and I did not get the trash out each week when they arrived.  They were amazing at coming to the front door to get it. Their dumpster service is great and they are very accommodating about my needing extra days due to weather. The guys that come to the house are the best.  WM used to leave notes on my garbage to put it closer to the road, if I did, it would be in the road.  I no longer have to worry about animals getting into the trash, putting the smelly trash in the car to take to road, all those annoyances.  Fade is the best. <br />"

"I met Tim Jones after a neighbor recommended him to me. Tim and I spoke over several months about the challenges of the prior driveway/stairway setup and discussed a number of conceptual alternatives. TIm is very creative and has a good sense of perspective in terms of what will work or not (recognize we were working within a relatively small footprint, on a steep slope, trying to create a design that would make the house more easily accessible from your car, yet not make the driveway impossible to trek). I was tryng to not just solve the functionailty challenges, but wanted the area to also be attractive, since it was the entry to our lakehome and property. Tim listened and understood what appealed to me and what did not. He developed the perfect combination of utility and aesthetics for the project. He designed the layout and recommended the type of stone to use. I liked it so much that I actually expanded the project to include a sideyard staircase that encompassed the same natural stone in an additional sweeping stairpath. TIm and his very capable son, Ryan (who works an excavator with the dexterity other young men can only hope to demonstrate on a video game joystick) work very well together. Their pride in their work is evidenced by their willingness to keep moving boulders until they not only serve their physical objective, but look "naturally" placed. I also had Tim do the plantings (small evergreens and shrubs) in the area. The end result looks great. From a project timeline perspective, the work took about 5 weeks, slightly longer than planned, but we did expand the project and there were some unanticipated site conditions (an underground spring) that had to be dealt with. Cost-wise, Tim doesn't like surprizes and didn't delivery any. He quoted a price up front, kept me abreast of any changes as a result of scope changes, and billed me as agreed upon. Overall it was an excellant experience, and I am planning on engaging Tim and Ryan on another project."

FAQs for gravel or loose fill paving install, spread or scrape projects in Bushkill, PA

To calculate how much pea gravel you need for your project, multiply the length, width, and depth of the area you want to cover to find the volume in cubic feet. Then, divide that number by 27 to convert it to cubic yards to determine the amount of pea gravel you need.

A yard of pea gravel weighs about 1.3 tons or 2,600 pounds. Keep in mind that wet gravel weighs more than dry, and different types of gravel can vary in weight. For example, due to its density, river rock weighs significantly more than crushed stone and pea gravel.

The ideal depth for pea gravel depends on the type and size of your project. You'll need at least two to three inches for walkways and patios and a minimum of six inches for driveways to support heavy vehicles and prevent shifting over time. Aim for a depth of three to four inches in decorative garden beds or drainage areas.

Pea gravel is attractive, versatile, and low-maintenance. It provides excellent drainage, making it ideal for pathways, driveways, and garden beds. On the downside, its sharp texture isn't ideal for bare feet, and it can be challenging to weed or remove once installed. It can also shift underfoot without proper edging, creating an uneven surface.

Alternative landscaping materials you can use instead of pea gravel include wood chips, decomposed granite, crushed stone, pebbles, quartz, mulch, sand, and river rock. These materials offer different aesthetics, performance, and costs, so it’s important to do your research to determine which one best fits your landscape design and budget.

Many homeowners choose pea gravel because it requires minimal upkeep compared to other landscaping materials. You'll need to rake it occasionally to redistribute the stones and maintain an even surface. Pros also recommend installing weed barrier fabric beneath the gravel to prevent unwanted growth, although some weeds may still appear over time.
