"Steve came over and gave us some good news (not a foundation problem), but also gave us a reference to someone who repairs concrete for the type of problem we have. He really knew all about these issues and told us some signs to look for that would indicate a real foundation problem. Very pleasant company to deal with."

"We had a damp crawlspace. John's installed drainage with sump pumps (lead and backup with battery backup power) and encapsulated the dirt with 20 mil plastic. They also installed PU foam around the perimeter foundation walls to complete the insulation envelope of the house and a dehumidifier top keep the crawlspace area dry. In short, this work solved the problem we had and provided the added benefits of a more energy efficient and comfortable house due to the insulation as well as better indoor air quality. The work was done in four days and at considerably less cost than a competing contractor bid to do it. Another person that we had inspecting house later looked at the crawlspace and commented, "Wow! You could do brain surgery down here." We actually wouldn't recommend that though ;)"

"I contacted Foundations First NorthWest and a couple of other contractors when an inspection revealed some foundation settling and crawl space damage. I chose Foundations First to make the repairs because they included more work, and at a lower price, than their competitors. I can't say enough about how professional everyone at Foundations First NorthWest was, from the first meeting with the sales rep to the constant communication with office staff throughout the project. Every step was completed without a hitch -- getting permits, engineering, the repair work and county inspections. The work crews worked quickly and efficiently on both the installation of stabilizing foundation piers, and also on the crawl space repairs. And they left the work areas in a very clean condition. I highly recommend Foundations First!"

"I recently hired TerraFirma to raise my house several inches and level out my basement floor. Working with TerraFirma Foundations was a great experience, from start to finish. Everyone involved in the project was very friendly and professional. I was kept in the loop, as to what was happening, every step of the way. I would definitely recommend this group to anyone needing help with their foundation."

"Excellent customer service throughout from initial contact through completion of work. The professional crew came up with some creative ideas for my complicated exterior water drainage problem from malfunctioning gutters, and they cleaned out my crawlspace and added a new vapor barrier. Top notch work, they did a great job of cleaning everything up, much better than I expected. I especially enjoyed not being up-sold on work I didn't need, such as a sump pump and trenching for water that wasn't there, as another company recommended."

"Eugene and his team were very professional and did a great job with my kitchen floor. During the demo part, they ran into some unplanned issues with the flooring, and then later with the tile itself but they always made it work or suggested the best options to move forward. The job was completed on time and the finished floors looks great."

"From the first phone call to Marie in the office, planning the work and materials with Brian, and the very efficient crew who worked so hard, everyone at Shannon Landscape & Construction did their work professionally, and in a timely manner. After an amended proposal was agreed upon, the crew started on Monday, September 30th, and finished on Friday, October 3rd.  Each day work started on time and continued till the clean-up at the end of each day.  Although we were impressed at the final inspection, and paid the total billing amount, two days later I noticed that a line of river rock placed over the French drain was not extended the full three feet from the foundation as described in the final proposal.  I called Marie, who alerted Brian, who sent two men to correct the problem right away.  We have received many compliments and how clean and well designed our yard looks now.  Great Job!

"I think the company was overwhelmed with response to the Fall 2012 offer, b/c it took a while to get a response.  However, when I reached them and got the job scheduled they were prompt and quick.  They ripped out old mailbox and replaced with new in concrete. Very good job, and I would use them again.

"They did a very good job, and they were careful not to damage siding or surrounding landscaping.   Cleaned up the work area each day, and upon completion left the area looking better than before the work started.   The best part -- no more leaking water in our basement.   I waited to write this review until we had been through a couple period of heavy rain.   Thanks Q!

FAQs for concrete foundation raise projects in Buxton, OR

On average, it takes two to seven days to physically raise your house. However, this does not include the preparation work, which is often the most lengthy process. The entire project, including preparation, obtaining permits, disconnecting utilities, and any subsequent landscaping, can take four to eight weeks. This timeline ensures everything is done safely and that your home remains structurally sound.

If proper safety protocols are not followed, raising a house can cause severe damage, as the process involves applying controlled force to the home's structure. The risks involved make it crucial to hire a skilled contractor who uses engineered methods to secure your home and prevent any harm to your household.

If your foundation shows signs of instability after raising your home, you might need to add structural support. A structural engineer can assess your foundation and recommend reinforcements to ensure your house stays stable and safe for the long term. Available support options include installing additional piers or pilings, reinforcing existing footings, or using steel beams to distribute the load more evenly.

You will need a structural engineer to assess your home before you begin. These professionals determine whether your house is suitable for lifting and identify any issues that could compromise its stability. Their expertise ensures that the project is designed correctly and all risks are managed to achieve a successful lift.
