"The floor installer arrived and finished as per agreement. The installer knows what he's doing and with the help of his wife I got the look I was after. There was a shortage of two transition pieces that go in the doorways. The first time the factory sent the wrong color so the pieces had to be re-ordered. From the date of installation to the signing off of the project was about seven weeks. Patrick was right on it as soon as he was made aware there was a problem so I never got upset as the missing pieces were just two doorway transitions pieces. The main installation took two days which was most satisfactory."

"I had originally gotten an estimate from HomeDepot-- $5000+ !!! I flat could not afford this. It was SO much beyond what I thought it was going to be that I almost just gave up and left the bare concrete with a throw rug over the top. But I thought just to be sure, I should get another estimate. I stopped by Carpetco more or less by accident (Lucky me!).
The installer from Carpetco came out and did the measurements without a charge-- out of the box, this made me happy, since HomeDepot charged $50-- and THEN would not even give me a copy of the measurements!!
Well, their estimate came in at $2823.46! And this was with a slightly better quality of flooring than HomeDepot-- I was so excited that I could afford it! This was actually not much more than the $2500 that I'd thought it would cost--the higher amount was due to the odd shape of the room, with a lot of material waste. Very happy, I signed up!
My first choice of vinyl was on backorder. I got a phone call with an estimated arrival date. I had actually waffled back and forth between two patterns-- I asked about the second pattern. It was in stock and the installation was scheduled.
Don't have much to say about it other than-- WOW, the room looks fabulous! Ken Brown and brother Don showed up as scheduled, worked diligently, and next thing I know, I had a new floor. All too often, I pay for work to be done, only to have the thought later that--yeah, they got it done, and it was ok, but... *i* would have done a better job.
Not so in this case-- I feel very good about the money spent on labor. I couldn't have done as good a job myself. Thanks, guys!

"They did a real good job. They were real professional. We can now open the garage door from the inside of the house and now it is so smooth that we have to check to see if we hit the button to open it or close it.  Before we used to know when it was opening or closing because it used to make a noise. It helps when you move to a city where you are new. "

"Our basement is partially finished and had Pergo flooring. Over the winter our pipes froze and burst causing about an inch of water to fill half the basement. Kings Bros helped us fix everything from the flooring to insulating the pipes and basement and a bunch of odds and ends that cropped up as they poked around in the crawlspace. Our house is now more energy efficient and we didn't run into any other problems with the pipes for the rest of the winter. The flooring is perfectly flat and level with no gaps or weird angles whatsoever. They did a great job and we hired them again to do our kitchen tile in August 2014. Recommended!

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Cannon Beach, OR

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
