"The price included 7% sales tax, 2 slabs of a 3 cm thick Dolomite stone, Akoya Pearl, install and fabricate 98sf, flat edge profile, steel reinforced under mount to sink and cooktop cut outs, supplied 18g stainless steel 50/50 sink, outlet cutouts. The installation is beautiful! Benjamin and his crew were very efficient in the planning and executing of every detail. I am most impressed in how Benjamin preplanned the best use of the slabs, to make sure it would all fit and how well he matched the pieces where the seams were needed. They were also able to add in a few extra requests with no problem. These guys are artists in what they do in their attention to nuances. I highly recommend them. Office staff is excellent as well. Katie and Heather were most helpful during the whole process. The Stone Shop had been recommended to me by two other relatives whose kitchen counters were installed by them."

"My pool was 20 years old and had been losing water for about 10 years. Mike, Randy, Addison and Crew pressure tested all lines, stripped the old plaster down so there was no pockets beneath it, then replastered, jack hammered out the old leaking lines from skimmer to spa located underneath pool deck and replaced them. They do beautiful concrete work. Replaced jets in spa. They had a very difficult time finding the last leak but stayed after it by eliminating 1 thing at a time until they found the problem, which was a metal pool light used at the time my pool was originally built. They fixed that problem and I am one happy pool owner for the first time in years. This was a hard job for this provider because of the leaking problem but they stayed with it until the problem was solved."

"Mr. Hall was the first to respond to my inquiry. He is a professional and very creative when it comes to landscape design and plant selection. He required a deposit up front which made me nervous. However, he returned the next day and finished the project to perfection the following day as promised. I sincerely feel his pricing was fair considering the job quality, timeliness, plant selection and expertise. Again, if you want to hire a professional, look no further that Serene Scapes. They are superior! - James"

"After a very bad experience with another installer who tried to cheat me, I contacted Scott. Although he was very busy and had a tight schedule, he arranged for me to come to the business to speak with his associate, Kevin. When I arrived at the store, Kevin was very helpful and informative, with several options for installation. I had basically already chosen the tumbled stone that I wanted to use, but he was able to add information I did not have.

That same afternoon, Kevin came to my home and took accurate measurements, and answered any questions. He gave me a quote for the work, which turned out to be as accurate as the measurement for square footage. This was on a Wednesday. The following Tuesday, the crew was there, and work was begun.

The actual installers of the tile were two men named John and Chad. They were both very knowledgeable and worked consistently, which was a welcome change from others that had been in my home. As they worked, they did answer any questions I had about the job that was being done. A wall of Hardie concrete board replaced the sheet rock that had previously been in place, and this was done prior to the crew arriving to install the tile. The work was done in three stages, on three different days. On Tuesday, the tile was put up and left to dry. Wednesday, the grout was applied, and Thursday the enhancer and sealer were applied. John and Chad did all the stages of the work.

The square footage was very accurate with only a very sheets of tile left. Also, the job site was left sparkling clean, with no debris. Kevin came back to my home to look at the finished job before I was ever even given a bill for the work. It was a refreshing change for someone to expect a satisfied client before receiving payment.

I would recommend Southeastern Stone & Flooring to anyone."

FAQs for gravel or loose fill paving install, spread or scrape projects in Canton, MS

To calculate how much pea gravel you need for your project, multiply the length, width, and depth of the area you want to cover to find the volume in cubic feet. Then, divide that number by 27 to convert it to cubic yards to determine the amount of pea gravel you need.

A yard of pea gravel weighs about 1.3 tons or 2,600 pounds. Keep in mind that wet gravel weighs more than dry, and different types of gravel can vary in weight. For example, due to its density, river rock weighs significantly more than crushed stone and pea gravel.

The ideal depth for pea gravel depends on the type and size of your project. You'll need at least two to three inches for walkways and patios and a minimum of six inches for driveways to support heavy vehicles and prevent shifting over time. Aim for a depth of three to four inches in decorative garden beds or drainage areas.

Pea gravel is attractive, versatile, and low-maintenance. It provides excellent drainage, making it ideal for pathways, driveways, and garden beds. On the downside, its sharp texture isn't ideal for bare feet, and it can be challenging to weed or remove once installed. It can also shift underfoot without proper edging, creating an uneven surface.

Alternative landscaping materials you can use instead of pea gravel include wood chips, decomposed granite, crushed stone, pebbles, quartz, mulch, sand, and river rock. These materials offer different aesthetics, performance, and costs, so it’s important to do your research to determine which one best fits your landscape design and budget.

Many homeowners choose pea gravel because it requires minimal upkeep compared to other landscaping materials. You'll need to rake it occasionally to redistribute the stones and maintain an even surface. Pros also recommend installing weed barrier fabric beneath the gravel to prevent unwanted growth, although some weeds may still appear over time.
