I called Marty on a Saturday and he came to diagnose it the following Monday. He located the problem and found the spring locally. After deicing it he found that it was bad. He replaced it and spent as much time as was needed to repair the problem. "Total Appliance Service was one of two repair shops in my area listed on the manufacturer's web site. Some of the reviews on Angie's list for TAS are dreadful. So, I called the other shop first. There was a scheduling mishap with them, and I called TAS. My clothes washer has a 5 year warranty when the industry standard is for 3 years. The first place I called was very skeptical. They eventually agreed to honor that provided I produce the warranty documentation. TAS lookup up my model online while I was on the phone and confirmed the 5-year warranty. The technician arrived within the window and had a part in hand. Based on my description he knew what was wrong. He completed the repair within a reasonable amount of time and was personable.
