"We bought our new home and hired Casey at Mita-Pro to finish a landscaping project in our backyard after he told us he had crews who could perform the work. Removal of railroad tie retaining walls and stairs, new block retaining wall construction, and tree removal were included in the scope of work we hired Mita-Pro to complete. They did poor work that not only fails to meet code standards throughout, it is also unsafe. All of the stairs they installed are already falling out of place. There are several areas of the wall that already show signs of failure after only a week and some rain. They did not remove all 50-year-old deteriorating railroad ties. Instead, they rested entire sections of wall/stairs on top of the 50-year-old railroad ties and 25+-year-old deck boards. To prop up the deck under all of the blocks, they used a couple of smaller blocks. We were told that 400 ft. of drain pipes were going to be used behind the walls, but they were never installed. Instead, the workers used 20 ft. of some old drainpipes that we already had laying around on one of 4 large retaining walls. They cracked existing drain pipes and wrapped them in the plastic wrap that was used to package the pallets of blocks. The business owner was paid in full and told us that we could expect fixes on the major areas of concern, but nobody has shown up and the business owner is no longer responsive. We were left with 4+ pallets of the block that blocked our access to the garage, preventing the sellers of the home from moving out by their move-out date. We had to move the material ourselves because the workers we were promised never showed up and after being told to expect a phone call 2 days in a row Casey stopped taking our calls. Now, my family and two small children are left with an unsafe, incomplete, and incorrectly/poorly built landscaping project, so I have to pay more money to fix it. We hired an engineer to evaluate the project and it was determined that the entire project was done negligently, incorrectly, and with improper materials. The wall surrounding our driveway was constructed without proper backfill. As a result, sections of the wall and our driveway are now showing indications of imminent collapse. We have pleaded with Casey at Mita-Pro for weeks and weeks but he is now blocking my texts and calls. Nobody has responded to me in over a month. What a nightmare."
