"I brought a lamp in for rewiring and possible replacement of the on/off dimmer switch. I was helped immediately at the service desk and had a clear conversation with the person who would be doing the repair. The lamp was ready one week later. The labor charge for the rewiring was $17.50 and the balance of the bill was for parts. Having worked on another lamp myself, I was amazed at how reasonable the charges were. Great experience overall and I highly recommend Valley Light Gallery for repairs. They also have a huge selection of lighting of all kinds."

"Strange and wonderful: That s the best description for this place. I don't remember who first told me to take a lamp to the Wizard of Oz for repair, but whoever they were, I still thank them. A scarecrow beckons you off Bell Road, and when you get inside you're not in Kansas any more. The place is filled with wild, campy antique light fixtures and shades, and your first thought is this IS strange. Then you see someone going out the door with a freshly repaired, staggeringly expensive solid crystal chandelier. The Wizard can fix about any problem with lamps and light fixtures, new or old. In the past few months they have re-wired two 1950s lamps inherited from my mother very nice when they were new and not items I m about to give up. They ve renovated several other lamps, some newer than the ones Mom bought a half-century ago. The price is always reasonable (unlike prices at a certain emporium down on McDowell) and the adventure of visiting the Land of Oz is always worth the time."

"Once the Handyman got here, it went well. However, the appointment was scheduled for Friday, May 30 at a window of 12-2pm and at 1:30pm he called and said that he had gotten tied up at the job he was currently at and would call me when he was done. I received a call around 3pm in which he said he was on his way and based on where he told me he was, was about 30 minutes away. He asked if it was ok with us if he grabbed some lunch and of course, we said it was totally ok, but evidently it wasn't drive-thru because he did not show up to our house until a little after 5pm. After showing him the project we had [installing a ceiling fan in our master closet - cheapest one at Lowe's], he got on the phone to check in with his company and get the quote but no one was answering so we were sitting in our kitchen until he got a call back. <br /> He finally got a call back by about 5:45pm and gave us our quote [which was REALLY reasonable!!! Install and drywall repair for $90]. We approved it but what we didn't realize was that we would be responsible for the supplies. So after we signed the quote, he gave my husband a few items that he would need. My husband ran to our local Ace Hardware, picked up what he thought was what was needed and rushed back. Was not the correct stuff and there were now additional items to pick up. My husband then ran out to Home Depot and collected everything that was on the list and called me before leaving Home Depot to ask the repair man if there was anything else. <br /> After all of the supplies were provided, a sheet to cover the floor was provided by us [drywall was going to be cut out of the ceiling], the Handyman got to work. Though he completed the job BEAUTIFULLY, it was after 8pm on Friday night that he finished. It took a little while, but my husband found the conversation entertaining and the fan works perfectly while the drywall repair was flawless! <br />"
