"In January of this year, my wife and I decided we needed to transform our finished basement to an inhabitable living area. That would require adding a bathroom and an egress window for â emergency escapeâ . We hired a contractor for the bathroom and began the research on egress windows. As we were anxious to move ahead ASAP, I began contacting companies that installed egress windows. We had a couple of reps come out, look at our basement, discuss the process and quote prices. Estimates ranged from $8000 to $12000. Most had 2 things in common. 1} They could not schedule the job until somewhere in May or June as â windowsâ wouldnâ t be available until then. 2) Any â finishingâ work (necessary sheet rock and trim) would be extra as they did not do that. In March, I happened upon a copy of a regional advertising magazine (Clipper) which came in our mail. In it was an advertisement for â Basement Gurusâ . Since we still hadnâ t made a commitment for the work, I gave them a call. After discussing the job with them, I came to conclusion to go with â Basement Gurusâ . There were five reasons why I made this decision. 1) It appeared to me, based on reviews, the company had a good reputation. 2) The fact that they had windows in stock. This would move job completion date up significantly over what I had been told by at least three other companies. 3) The price. 4) Excavation would be done manually eliminating the possibility of damage to my neighborâ s lawn. 5) Sheetrock and finishing included. Our egress window project (install/follow up sheetrock/trim) was completed on time. Three workers came to our home for the install. They completed the window in three days. Very efficient, professional. Our township inspector came out a few days later and said â all looked goodâ . Also, John the sheetrock/trim person told me he had done a number of egress finishes. He said this one, as opposed to some heâ d seen, looked really good. The sheetrock and trim was completed in one day. An egress window is a big job. They make alterations to your homeâ s foundation! All in all, Basement Gurus did an awesome job! We now have a really nice â livableâ basement adding significant value to our home. Basement Gurus gets my full recommendation! "VRN Masonry repaired our patio, repaired the block supporting our garage wall, and poured concrete to fill in under our front porch. "Excellent wish all my contractors came out this good.  showed up for the estimate on time and had a video that showed the steps to fix the basement.  measured  the basement and made up contract.  when I mentioned angies list and deals offered we built it right into contract without printing coupons and stuff. were quick with availability came out the following week.  foreman (Dan) was on time and double checked everything before starting .Wanted to move sump pump and outside drain to a less used area. not a PROBLEM. Was loud and cold in the house all day as if you run the furnace while they work it comes through the vents.  laid out carpet protectors and were done in only 1 day (the estimator planned 2)  Jackhammered the floor out and dug down to foundation laid new drains and installed new sump pump. they brought 5 people and they all worked hard constantly for the day.  lost track of all the buckets after 30 (5 gal. buckets).removed with old crap.  Explained all the warranties and paperwork with new sump pump.  Have to wait for the concrete to dry. it's now 3 days later and I'm ready to put the basement back together.  Looks great and can't wait to use the basement without wet and damp floors and walls furnace)  did forget to put screen back in basement window but if you have leaky walls and damp floors this is nice.  any problems after the next big rain I'll let ya's know.

"Excellent company. Knowledgeable, they sent an engineer to look at work that needed to be done, not just a salesman, who would "get back to me" on the price. Engineer made a drawing and gave us a price on the spot. We had used them in the past for waterproofing, this time they are repairing an exterior foundation wall. Will use them again if needed."
