After reading Watry Homes reviews on this site, we contacted them in March. I had reached the point where I no longer wanted to maintain the house, and after researching siding options and speaking to other home owners, was seeking a contractor to install what I believed was the best siding solution, Hardy Plank. It was our intention to have the work done before the summer months, to avoid the disruption and scheduling conflicts which inevitably happen in high season.

Scott Watry came out and inspected/measured the house on March 17, presented window options and gave an overview of the process. Within a week we had an estimate and we gave him the commitment assuming the work would begin as soon as materials were received within a few weeks. The project did not get underway, however, until June 4th, the day I was leaving for two weeks of travel. My wife provided daily updates in my absence, and glowing reviews of Scott's workers, specifically, Paul and Rob who came in and installed the windows and doors. I met these guys later and they are true professionals who pay close attention to detail. The siders were also efficient and meticulous in their work, and cleaned up every day. The crew had a few guys, but Roberto, who appeared to be their lead, was very responsive to every question or request, and went out of his way to be accommodating. Splattered paint on a portion of our patio and sill appeared to be their only misstep.

In the end, we have a job that met our expectations in terms of quality, fit and finish. It was the punch list of several small items and requests which was emailed to Scott in mid-June that made the final conclusion of the project a little rocky. It turned out that part of the roof over our den did not receive adequate flashing necessary to prevent a leak that ensued after five days of rain. Scott insisted that it was the result of layers of caulk installed by someone else, inadequately sealing an inside corner of the roof. Dan, who was sent out later to make the repair, said the caulk and sealing had been done by their siders, and was still wet. Scott agreed to place a drywall patch in the interior ceiling where there was water damage, but I spent the better part of a day painting the ceiling, trim and walls to original condition once this was done. This put a damper on an otherwise great experience with Watry.

We totally respect Watry's workers and the diligence they exemplified every day. My feelings about Scott with him not taking ownership of the leak and the damage it caused was unfortunate because it would have been so easy to simply do so without casting blame on others. I also feel it would have been appropriate to personally stop by at the project's conclusion (today), to ensure he had a satisfied customer. As it was, he called and asked me to give a check for final payment to his worker before he left, without asking me if I was completely satisfied. In my view, the size and scope of our project would dictate that he do so. 

However, I would not be hesitant to recommend them as a reference primarily because of his crews.

"Brad was on time, professional and informative with regard to our air conditioner problem. He did a chemical wash on the outside coils on our aging unit. He provided us with two free filters to replace the more expensive one which was cutting the air flow. He reduced the cost of the service since we had alreadly been "taken for a ride" by another local business we called for an after hours service when the AC stopped working. We will use this contractor to install a new furnace and air conditioner in the future."

"After interviewing and soliciting bids from numerous waterproofers and plumbers, I turned to Angie's List and searched for a waterproofer with outstanding reviews.  I selected and called on Basement Waterproofing Solutions.  Brian Flanagan was at my house the very next day!  Right off the bat, I liked Brian.  He was personable and professional, but not too "professional".  The other companies I interviewed sent "professionals" that were all business and did not want to take the time to listen to what I had to say.  Brian was all ears.
I showed Brian all problematic areas and asked for his opinion on the best possible solution.  He had suggestions and cost effective solutions. The most surprising solution was for the kitchen/laundry drainage problem.  Both drained directly to a catch basin in my yard adjacent to the house.  During very heavy downpours, my catch basin would fill and water would back up into the laundry tub then cascade down to the floor, which in turn caused flooding.  All the other companies had very expensive solutions that involved tearing up my yard and installing waterproofing contraptions.  Brian gave it some thought and came up with the ideal solution.  The connection to the catch basin from inside the house would be cut and capped.  A hole would be created inside the house for a pit and a pump.  This allowed the kitchen sink, the laundry tub and the washing machine to dump into the new pit and the water would be ejected up and along the pvc pipes that were installed between the ceiling joists, and ultimately ending in the overhead sewer system.  The new pit would be vented through an existing stack.  Brilliant!  Problem solved.
The quality of the work, including new concrete floor where the drain tile was installed, is top-notch.  Cleanup was meticulous.  The crew was punctual and professional.  Most importantly, Brian was always reachable and eager to discuss the project.
Brian's performance and price exceeded my expectations.  That says alot because I am very particular about the contractors I work with as well as the quality of their work.  I have already referred Basement Waterproofing Solutions to a few of my friends."

"I have worked with contractors in the past but, never had such kind, courteous, punctual, and patient young men as Jovon and Jeremy. They worked with me on the situation I was in. My neighbor was going to install my storm door for free but he ended up in a cast due to a work injury. So now I'm stuck. I contact Angi to get some Quotes. Jovon set up the appointment. Arrived on time. Just toward the end of the install we discover I had ordered the door to wide I had a 36" and I needed a 32". So then I went online to find the right door. Jovon and Jeremy gave me another appointment for the next day, They arrived at 10 AM and went out of their way to take me back to Menards to exchange the door. I called Ben and asked if he could come check my others right away before the next storm and save me from basement flooding. He graciously came over a few hours later. "Generally well overall. Unfortunately, the weather (early spring) put off the date for the final paving over the outside drain tile. There was also an area along the basement wall for which they didn't install the seepage material (no explanation why). The team broke one basement window, reported to the manager that I had approved replacing ALL the windows with glass block ($200 each for 5 windows). I explained that I had not spoken with them at all, and I'd be willing to replace the ONE broken window. They replaced two. At no extra charge to me. I felt as though it was my responsibility to nag (when will you be able to finish? what's going on with the outdoor work?), when that should be the priority of the business... keeping me informed about what's going on. Finally, when moving appliances, they destroyed my washing machine (cracked a cement part so it couldn't be repaired). I wasn't aware this had occurred until after the fact. I complained but have had no response. Despite the carelessness and unresponsiveness, that basement is dry as a bone. Can't complain on that note. I marked that I would hire again... slightly unsure about that. I'd like to think there's a perfect company out there that would contact me up-front about when work stops or will continue, or when they break something. Otherwise, the foundation work + sump pump install was superb."
