"I hired Long Island handyman construction group to remodel a 400sf basement and bathroom in Melville. They were priced in the middle compared to other bids. I picked them thanks to their out of the box advice which saved me thousands of dollars. There was one problem with the plumbing which cost an extra 1800 dollars. The owner settled with me 50/50 even though it was a pre-existing issue. The project was started early and completed early. All mess was cleaned up and the crew was very friendly and fully aware. "This was a fairly big job to completely remodel our unfinished 1000 sq foot basement. The job took about 5-6 weeks to finish. Jeff showed up every day with his small crew and did an amazing job. Jeff was easy to work with and delivered everything we asked for. We also had Jeff's team replace our den floor with a heated tile floor which came out amazing. In addition, they also resolved a complicated leak that required some detective work to determine where it was coming from and thy were able to find and resolve the issue. "<p>This is the 2nd major project I contracted Art DeRosa & Co for.  The 1st being 4 years ago a major living room/family room renovation which was hugely successful.  That 1st experience led me to award Art (after several other competitive quotes) this 2nd and far larger & more complex project.<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /></p> <p>Overall it went well but this was a complicated project encompassing all the typical trades and expertise of building a new luxury house but far more complicated because it was a renovation performed while we were living in the home. "Excellent! Alta Renovations did my bathroom from the studs out. Tile, sheetrock, floor, vanity and the plumbing and towel hardware. The job was was in a co-op, with very frustrating "rules" and "requirements ". Most contractors would not want to participate (paperwork, time schedules and parking restrictions). Jose, the owner of Alta, abided by all the rules, whiles still keeping a smile!!! His workers worked neatly and orderly, knew exactly what had to be done, and did it. Very pleased.
