"Great experience. The previous reviews were spot-on. This business is all Lazaro - you deal with Lazaro from the beginning and Lazaro is there every day throughout the job. He is personable, patient, explains everything clearly, is prompt, responsive, reasonably priced, sensitive to budget, creative coming up with solutions for unique situations, and flexible on scheduling and on changes that may come up during the job. I could tell he was the one when I first met him; he measured everything and listened carefully to my concerns and suggestions. This is entirely unlike the other highly-rated Angie's List big business from which I requested an estimate, who sent a young marketing guy out who provided a fancy folder, did not really listen (just kept saying "yeah, we can do that, and we'll throw in some other things at no additional cost"), took no measurements and provided an outrageous quote. I've attached a before and after picture. My driveway pavers were spreading apart due to poor drainage due to tire pressure over time. In addition to reinforcing the substructure and sloping the driveway correctly away from the house, Lazaro came up with solutions including beautiful gravel side drains and reinforcing the previously spread-apart area with a concrete border hidden under the gravel. He also reset our fence post that had been rising due to the poor drainage and installed a downspout drain under the reset driveway with a pop-up drain on the other side instead of having the downspout pour directly onto the pavers, which also may have led to our previous problems. And he was creative in redistributing our oil-stained pavers in a random pattern so they wouldn't be as noticeable. Great job."

"Josh evaluated the job, made suggestions, gave me a quote and proceeded to do all the earth moving and readiness for a large steel building. He oversaw all the leveling with transits, backfill and compaction, gravel fill and placement of the pavers. He suggested decorative patterns, color schemes with different block and installed all of it in a timely manner. He was professional from start to finish. This is not the first time we have used Ground Effects and they continue to impress us with their level of perfection and attention to detail. "I would highly recommend Hemax! We hired Hemax in August 2018 to fix water leaking into our basement in a house we recently purchased. After receiving multiple quotes, Hemax was not necessarily the cheapest, but they were by far the most thorough and easiest to work with, which was well-worth the money and peace of mind. To address the water problems our house had, Hemax removed an old concrete patio that was sloping toward the house and causing water to pool against our foundation. They repaired the foundation wall (by digging 33' long by 7' deep) to expose the foundation and install metal lath/waterproof the foundation. They also installed an exterior drain and sump pump (with a battery back-up system) in our basement (we previously did not have a sump pump). Hemax also extended our down spouts to improve drainage and keep water away from our house, in addition to installing a french drain where water was pooling in our front yard. The crew was extremely professional and Henry was always available to answer our questions. Since they completed their work, we have not had any water issues at all, and we are looking forward to hiring them again for all of our future exterior home projects."

"This review is for the estimate we obtained. We called Cutting Edge Lawn and Landscape to deal with a drainage issue on the property. He was recommended on a neighborhood list serve. The owner Kevin Schmauder and his associate were very informative, helpful and good with communication. We understand Kevin is one of a small number of landscapers that has certification in drainage resolution issues. While the initial estimate looked good, it was beyond our budget. Kevin came back with a simpler plan to suit our needs. He has great ideas to enhance appearance and hide equipment redirecting the excess water. Cost is higher than other estimates we received, but we like his ideas and his willingness to work with us. We've heard he does quality work so we expect the higher cost will be well worth the results. We've signed a contract to have him do the work and will submit another review after the work has been completed."
