Griffin Roofing (whom I had used previously for relatively minor roofing repairs) to evaluate whether the roof was a factor. Matt Hoffman determined that significant work had to be done including substantially rebuilding two dormers, removing and replacing valleys and flashing, and replacing the roof on the dormers. As in the case of previous and subsequent jobs, Griffin's work crew was very professional and conscientious at all times. They cleared all rubble and tools from the site every day, and the job was started and completed on schedule. In the 4 years since this work was done and the interior water damage repaired, there has been no further sign of water damage in that room. "It was wonderful. Tom suggested two different kinds of roof for my house. In the front, high-quality asphalt tiles, and in the back standing seam metal. The back will support solar panels, and standing seam is great because they can install the panels by clipping them onto the seams without penetrating the roof. But it is expensive, hence the two materials. Certified is a super professional company. They do any kind of roof (very unusual) and have special crews for each. They are also certified by Certainteed - also rare - so the customer gets a 50-year guarantee. I started thinking about replacing it since a few of my neighbors had their roofs replaced mainly due to a recent storm that blew shingles off their homes. Being a super busy homeowner, I haven't had the time to even think of it so I put it on the back burner until... Michael Anthony arrived at my house to talk to me about replacing my old worn out roof. Our discussion detailed HCR ‘s roof replacement system - an education for me since all I thought was the old shingles were taken off the roof and new ones stapled on. Let me tell you roof replacement with HCR is not like that at all. Michael explained each step of the system to me. First, the old shingles are scraped off the roof. Then a 2mm barrier shield Is layed over the plywood sub roof to keep out moisture, and then the shingles are nailed on - three nails per shingle. This, he told me, would anchor the shingles so that in case of high winds they would not blow off. Did I tell you about the warranty? My new roof will not give me any worries for at least 25 years and it is transferable to a new owner of my townhouse should I ever decide to sell it. Oh yeah, if a shingle does blow off, they will come and repair it. Peace of mind! The HCR crew was very professional. They started scraping the old shingles off just as soon as they arrived at my job site. After all the old worn out shingles were off the roof, the fun began. It was amazing to me to watch a crew member swiftly carry each package of shingles up a very tall ladder to the roof. By the time all the packages were on top of the roof, the barrier shield was laid out. Then each single shingle was laid down and nailed. After all shingles were in place, the crew cleaned up the debris in my yard and in my neighbors’ yards. My new roof looks amazing! Michael contacted me on the day of the install to check on the progress. All went well! I now have a very beautiful roof that I don't have to worry about replacing for at least 25 years.
