"From the time I spoke to the sales person every aspect of this install was professionally handled and all worked completed in a timely manner. The two project managers are the best I have seen in the home improvement industry. They listened to all of my concerns and addressed the details of this project in an outstanding manner. They made sure all additional materials were delivered immediately so there was no holdups in the work progress. Both of their attitudes were outstanding. I was also very impressed with the actual crew who preformed the install. They are true craftsmen. I personally have knowledge of what goes into a roof installation and this work is the best I have seen. From wood replacement to removal and replacement of five existing roof windows the work was excellent. The new windows were properly taped and flashing installed per the manufacturer specifications. New ice guard, underlayment and drip edge were also installed perfectly. Finally the roof was shingled with Owenâ s Corning Duration product. From the drone photos this is one beautiful roof. My wife and I could not be happier. Thanks to all of the Home Genius Team. Job well done. Five Star Rating!!"

"Contract Agreement Date: June 20, 2025 Parties: Keystone Remodeling and Restoration Services, DuBois, PA (Phone: 814-849-8490) and William & Shawn Johnston Scope of Work: Keystone Remodeling and Restoration Services (“Contractor”) agrees to: 1. Remove existing carpeting and install new flooring in approximately 1,700 sq. ft. of space. o Customer will supply the flooring materials. o Determination of whether transitions are needed will be made after floor removal. 2. Repair kitchen lighting at a cost of $50.00 per man needed. 3. Install a customer-purchased shower at no additional labor cost. Labor & Materials: • Labor will be billed at $75.00 per man-hour. • If Contractor supplies any materials, a 15% markup will be applied to the cost of those materials. • Drive time is charged one way starting at 8:00 AM daily. Due to the flooring not fitting on the Contractor’s small trailer, William & Shawn Johnston arranged for a U-Haul truck to transport the materials to the residence. • Upon delivery, the crew from Keystone Remodeling and Restoration unloaded the flooring and placed it in the living room. Additionally, the Contractor assisted in removing items from the home and loading them into the U-Haul for the Customer. Project Update – July 21, 2025 On July 21, 2025, at 8:00 AM, Keystone Remodeling and Restoration Services entered the home of William & Shawn Johnston to begin scheduled work. The crew removed carpeting throughout the home, completed all flooring installation, removed the old bathtub, and installed a new shower surround. On July 25, 2025, Keystone Remodeling and Restoration Services returned to the home of William & Shawn Johnston to complete the remaining scope of work • Remaining Balance Due: $1,542.82 • Payment made via Check #640: $1,542.82 Final Statement: William & Shawn Johnston were informed by Keystone Remodeling and Restoration Services that this payment represents the balance due for all work completed as of July 25, 2025. Project Update – July 28, 2025 On July 28, 2025, Shawn Johnston received a phone call from Keystone Remodeling and Restoration Services. The Contractor stated that they had miscalculated the final total for the project and claimed a remaining balance due of $800.00. Payment was declined to make any further payment, stating that any miscalculation was the Contractor’s responsibility. It was also noted that the shower was not functional, as the material placed on the pipes had solidified, preventing proper use. Project Update – August 4–12, 2025 • 08/04/2025 – After using the shower, a leak was discovered. Shawn Johnston contacted Keystone Remodeling and Restoration Services to report the issue. • 08/05/2025 – Keystone Remodeling and Restoration visited the property to repair the leak. The crew instructed that the shower not be used for 36 hours. • 08/09/2025 – Upon resuming use of the shower, the leak reoccurred. • 08/11/2025 – Shawn Johnston called Keystone Remodeling and Restoration to report the leak. The call was not returned; however, a voicemail message was left. • 08/12/2025 – Shawn Johnston again called Keystone Remodeling and Restoration to report the continued leak. No response was received. Following the lack of response, Shawn contacted Angi List to report the problem and was informed of the process for filing a formal complaint against the Contractor. Complaint Summary: • Keystone Remodeling and Restoration was paid for work that included installation of a fully functional shower. • The shower continues to leak and is not functional. • The Contractor has allegedly refused to complete necessary repairs unless an additional $800.00—an amount disputed by the Customer—is paid. • The Customer believes this constitutes an attempt to collect funds not owed and is effectively being “held hostage” for payment. • The Contractor has not provided requested billing documentation from Lowe’s for materials purchased. Despite being paid a total of $11,262.82—well above the initially discussed project cost of approximately $8,000—the Contractor has: 1. Failed to deliver a fully functional shower, which continues to leak despite multiple repair attempts. 2. Refused to address the ongoing leak unless an additional, disputed $800.00 is paid. 3. Not provided requested receipts or proof of material purchases from Lowe’s. 4. "The contracted the work off to a third party. Jon took longer than expected. The windows was installed pretty good from the looks. Communication could have been better with knowing the job will take longer and what types of trims I wanted for the windows. As the contractor that was hired for this job by this company. Did a good job with putting up decent trim. As for the new windows they look great. I purchased the myself and hired sentri homes to install them. I will need to have a my siding on my house redone to be closer to the new windows so the gaps are not so obvious. That was not expected at first. But from old storm windows and not knowing how they were put in originally. There was some unknown things that was learned from the job being completed. I will have the siding of the house slightly done to match really good for what I wanted later on. My only concern is better communication with sentri homes. Overall they were great when I did talk to them."

"After I got 5 estimates, 3 for Asphalt shingles, 2 for Metal roofing I decided to go with First Choice because Dave explained exactly what he planned to do. The other contractor wanted to install the metal roof over the exiting Shingles even after I explained that I suspected that some wood decking was damaged and needed to be replaced. I was able to do everything over the phone and via email as I am currently deployed overseas.

"Contrary to other reviews I have seen on this page, I hired McNeely Construction, to put a roof on our home. My understanding is McNeely did use GAF 50 Year Shingles. Mike personally seen this job through. Phone Calls, emails and even stopped by our house when they finished the job (it took 1 Work Day for McNeely to do this job). I inspected the premises when I got home from work. I did not find any loose shingles or loose nails on the ground anywhere. The roof was over and above what I expected and he reflashed our addition where the previous roofer screwed up. The clean up was unbelievable. As such, Mike was paid in full without incident. Normally, roofers request a deposit, payment and final payment when the job is over. I used to work for a roofing company and understand people do not like to make the last payment beacuse each payment is split into 1/3. If nobody makes the last payment they cannot expect for any roofer to be eager to fix or warranty any issues that routinely develop with a fresh install or develop over time. Overall, I am very pleased with the expedited work and the roof itself. I would highly recommend on promptness and price."

I came from a bad situation and had to have a 12yr old roof replaced...NOT from these guys...so I asked every question I could think of. "The estimate was provided the same day they came to look at the roof.  The estimate was detailed and easy to read.  Gino kept me informed of all the steps and the work was completed on time.  Very professional.

"When I first contacted the company they did not return my call.   I got several estimates from other companies and then decided to try Summit again.   This time the owner (Gino) returned my call and explained that he had gotten my first message but his phone had broken and he had lost my number.   He promptly came out out to the house and gave me a very reasonable estimate for the work.  He sent a contract which I signed and returned, and which also indicated the work would begin within 1 -2 weeks of the signing date (8/12/13).   Two weeks later he indicated he would begin the work that week but never showed up because it rained.  He said he would return Tuesday of the following week.   He did not show up but sent an email that Thursday saying he had other emergency work that needed to be done and that he would start the next week.  He did not show up the following week at all and did not respond to my emails and calls.  He finally emailed on 9/19/13 apologizing for lack of response due to losing his Ipad.   He explained that he had again run into emergency water damage/insurance issues and was short on manpower, but would begin the next week.  Once again he did not show up that week and emailed me on 9/27/13 saying he would start the following week.   He and several workers finally showed up the first week of October (six weeks after I had returned the signed contract).   They worked for a day or two and then did not return for another week.   The rest of the work was completed over the next two weeks by a single worker (not Gino) who was VERY professional and VERY skilled.  
Ultimately, I was very pleased with the work that was done and I was quite satisfied with the price.  It was, however, a very frustrating experience in terms of not knowing when they would show up or when the work would be completed.  I definitely felt like he was "fitting me in" and that the job was not a priority for him.   I understand that emergencies can come up, that weather can make it difficult to work, and that there can be staffing issues.   I just wish Gino had been more responsive and kept me in the loop.  Not knowing what was happening was the hardest part.
So, I would definitely recommend Summit Peak for price and quality of work, but I would be hesitant to hire them again because of the responsiveness issues.
