"Gary arrived on time , inspected the basement and the perimeter of the house and told me that what I need is to work on the gutters and downspouts. If that doesn’t solve the issue then I should consider a French Drain and sump pump on one side of the house and that would cost me around $3500. JES tried to make me sign a contract for 32k a couple of days ago and they wanted me to basically destroy the entire finished basement on top of it. I appreciate Gary’s honesty, it’s so hard to find someone like that nowadays. I will definitely called Armored Basement Waterproofing if still needed after fixing the gutters. 100% recommended!"

"Been 7 years and everything is still tight! Repointed the block on the inside and painted it about 4 years ago. Paint is holding up. Squared the seal up on the outside and painted there too. Everything outside is holding up as well. The only company that didn't try to sell me a sump pump."

"Fantastic job. Provided accurate assessment of what needed to be done at reasonable cost for our unfinished basement. Resolved all water issues completely and have not had water in the basement despite rainy spring/summer."

"RRR did a high-end hall bath remodel in Sep 2020 for approximately $24000. Homeowners did the basic design and material selection. RRR suggested construction and material mods, as needed, and ordered all material. Cost was clearly detailed up front, paid on draw, and was met by completion date. All stage work and inspections were completed on schedule, over approximately three weeks. Crew was always on time and worked full days, while Ryan checked in twice a week. All rough-in and finish work was neat and well crafted, including studding, plumbing, electrical, wall and floor tile, and vanity top and basin, and painting. There was some struggle with heavy shower doors assembly and clean install. All punchlist items were complete with no issues. Enjoyed interaction with Ryan and his crew. Very happy with results. Competitive pricing. Would highly recommend."

"Had a great experience with Chris Kuper at Basement Detective! My basement flooded from non-stop storms and I needed a sump pump installed along with complete renovation of my basement. They were very competitive in pricing and outstanding in results. Chris even helped coordinate with the contractor doing my basement renovation after the sump was installed to make sure none of the drainage was disturbed by the new work being done. I have since weathered at least 3 large storms and can hear the sump working as needed. Very happy with the results!"

"Called at 11 am on Monday. Advised their schedule was full for the day, but they could fit us in as an end-of-day job. Plumbers called ahead at 2 pm, saying they were inbound and 30 minutes away. Arrived and diagnosed job, provided no-cost estimate of $250. Seemed reasonable, so I said OK. They removed the trap under the sink and fed about 30' of auger (snake) down drain line. Appeared clear, but they check it several times - found it still was clogged, just not as much. Lead plumber then said it would be easier to clear through the vent on the roof, so he climbed up there and fed even more auger down. That did the trick, after about 45 minutes work. Plumbers cleaned up very efficiently and departed, having really gone the extra mile to check to ensure the drain was really clear. Note: Plumbing truck that arrived was from 4 Service Pros - evidently on contract to Friedman."

FAQs for sump pump repair or replace projects in Clinton, MD

Sump pumps last about 10 years with proper maintenance and prompt repairs. Several factors can influence your sump pump’s lifespan, such as usage, environmental conditions, and installation. Premium sump pumps with heavy-duty motors and quality components tend to last longer than lower-cost models. Pedestal sump pumps usually last longer than submersible models since they’re not constantly exposed to water.

A basement French drain is a drainage system installed in basements or around a building’s foundation to redirect water and prevent flooding. This system features a trench with a perforated pipe that catches and transports water away. These systems can crack, freeze, or clog, potentially resulting in flooding or strain on your sump pump.

You can use a sump pump in your yard to minimize pooling water and landscape damage, but it’s best used in conjunction with other drainage systems. This can include French drains, trench drains, underground downspouts, and other equipment. Proper lawn care, such as soil aeration and native plants, also aids with drainage.
