We discovered during the repair that an additional piece was needed, so he ran to the hardware store at no additional charge. The repair was completed correctly and the job site was properly cleaned when they were done.

"He flushed the water heater tank - I think - but left me confused.  He showed me the initial sediment that came out, but said there is so much build up in the tank that the water could drain but the sediment was stuck?!??  And that was it - my hot water tank needs replacing.
He may be right, but he came to that conclusion very quickly and I just question if that is my only option.

"The guy did a very good job "diagnosing" ONE heater. This wasn't nearly as good a deal as it seemed, though, as we have FOUR heaters and they wanted to charge a "regular" price to "diagnose" each one beyond the first. That, for people who aren't math whizzes, is $80 for the first heater and $240 for the other 3. That is $320 TO DIAGNOSE ONLY. Now, fixing them is an entirely different matter. That is way more. $320 to have someone look at your heaters is not, it turns out, all that inexpensive, at all. I found 5 people in 20 minutes who would do it for less. In a sense it is a bait and switch type of deal. After all, it gives them an endless supply of customers as they DIAGNOSE problems and then generally get to fix all the problems they diagnose and get paid for the original diagnosis. I think it is a come on. NOW...having said that, I think the company is competent and professional. But I think this diagnosing thing is really just one big marketing ploy."
