"The two workers did an excellent job and the  ceiling now  looks like it was the  original.    It was obvious that the two men took a pride in doing quality work. 
This was the "big deal" and  as had been indicated in the agreement, there was a reasonable additional  charge for  the materials.      
  Because this company is popular,  I had to  "wait   my turn"  to have the work done and  was kept advised by Peter.  
My only complaint is NOT about this company.  It is about the horribly  small print on Angle's List's on-line  forms (such as this  form, and the reply forms  used when writing ). 
I have a MacBook and usually can adjust  print  size on fill-in forms,  but not on Angie's forms.

"Kevin and his associate were very professional in every way. The sink drain pipe was fixed quickly, and the cabinet rebuilt on a separate trip. Extra flexible piping was used in the drain pip repair to prevent the cracking from re-occurring. I appreciate his competence and willingness to discuss all the aspects of the job. "We built our house 24 years ago and acted as our own General Contractors, hiring a foreman and a crew, engaging in detailed oversight on all of the work. We are artists and have a high level of craftsmanship in our own work and in what we expect of others. After some 20 years, we realized that we needed to re-stucco the entire exterior of the building (~ 4000 sf) and wanted to address several problems that had accrued since the original construction. We got 6 or 7 bids and found that it was important to compare apples to apples, because some contractors didn’t specify exactly what they would include and others just didn’t do as much. The final bids that we compared included a preliminary coat of Wall-Ease, meshing the entire building, and a final color-coat, as well as extra protection around the windows and parapets. With the bids that incorporated all of this, James was the most competitive and we also were impressed with how competent and responsive he seemed according to the reviews on this site. He was able to get to our job in a timely way that worked with our schedule and with the weather. Overall we are very happy with the job and things turned out well. We had a few problem areas that we wanted addressed and in the end all of this was repaired and attended to. The guys on the crew were all very experienced and had a high skill level, included repairing as well as stucco work. However, we had a few frustrations beginning with the initial bid which didn’t cover some areas we had discussed. We got a revised bid, but if we had not been on the job site, overseeing exactly what they were doing, we might not have had things attended to that were in the revised bid. The crew was moving ahead, not doing everything included in the bid, until we intervened. That said, the guys were attentive to our concerns and James was very responsive when we pointed out what wasn’t being addressed and that we weren’t happy with how everything was going. In the end he addressed all of our concerns, was always responsive to our calls, and the job came out really well. James and his crew know their stuff and are competent and experienced and respond well to feedback and intervention."

"Hugo Flores arrived during the time-frame given to us (the early end!), and was very professional and knowledgeable. He found the problem right away, gave us a quote, and proceeded to replace the defective parts. We had a different company work on it in November, so when making the appointment I gave TLC all the information on our hot water heater, and part that was replaced then. So before coming to our service call, Hugo picked up the parts he might need. He was so efficient and informative. And the price was very reasonable. This company prides itself in its' honesty and fairness, and Hugo certainly personified those qualities. We have found our "go-to" company for plumbing, heating, and air conditioning!!"

"David Romero was a pleasure to work with, very friendly, and responsive. His crew members were also friendly and efficient, and cleaned up after themselves well. There were some miss communications or lack of communication between him, his subcontractor and me in the selection and cost of the quartzite. This affected the integrity of the original estimate I was given. Subcontractor didn't let us know about specific type/thickness of stone purchased (based on the color I picked) until after he purchased it and this increased cost significantly. I likely would have agreed to the situation anyway to make things work, but the point is neither David or I knew about the cost in advance of purchase. Had I known, I could have taken another look at my countertop choices and compared costs one more time. I purchased sinks and faucets myself to get the quality I wanted, that also exceeded allowances in contractor's estimate and affected overall cost, but it was a conscious choice by me, and I paid for them separately....with upfront agreement from David. I would hire him again, but I would make certain to work with him more closely and in more detail on all the project elements and costs, and keep doing so if the project evolves. I would also clarify who pays subcontractors as work is completed. Based on experiences with other contractors, I prefer to conduct all business matters (estimates, contracts, changes, payments, etc) with one responsible party, the contractor."

"These guys are excellent at what they do. Started out with a roofing project that moved into replacing a swamp cooler, building a block wall, and adding an upper and lower patio area. They were professional, great to be around, provided outstanding service, and did it all for a very fair price. I would use these guys as often as I could."
