Small jobs welcome

"A team of three arrived on time. They all had individual jobs. I questioned the washing technique of how they was the windows. They used a spray container with a wand. Not using a ladder for the higher windows. They used an extension to dry the windows and not the shelves below. It took the team a long time to finish the whole job. When the were done and wanted the payment I inspected the work. THIS IS WHEN I FOUND TWO BROKEN SCREENS WHICH IS THE BASIS OF THIS COMPLAINT. I showed the screens team leader and he said they were broken when they washed the windows. If that were the case why didn t he bring them to my attention?! I called the owner of explained the situation. He said they would pick them up and repair both screens. I said I am withholding $70 and will pay once the screens are returned. Over the month or more I contacted the owner about status of getting the screens returned. He always had an excuse about the difficulty of matching frames. After more calls he left a message the screens ready and will drop them off! So I arrived home the screens ready were outside the front door. I promptly took the first screen to install it. IT DID NOT FIT ! So I took the second screen to the window and the same result! It didn t fit! The two windows have exact same measurements. I called Jeff again and he wanted to argue with me. I pulled another screen off a like window and it fit. The issue is THE OWNER RETURNED TWO SCREENS THAT HE SUPPOSEDLY REPAID AND THEY SIMPLY DO NOT FIT! I called the owner again. He said he would get us correct fitting screen. It is Sept 18. This whole mess started the late June."

"Erin is an extremely good carpenter who built a large covered deck for us this last spring. We had several contractors bid the job and Erin was very competitive with his bidding. His helpful concern for our construction saved us time and money. We noticed he kept the work area very clean; and he did not waste materials. He offered design ideas that enhanced our original design plans without costing us additional moneys. I highly recommend his company and intend to keep him as our go-to contractor on any further projects we decide to do. Max Simpson maaax@bmi.net"

"This is a revised review from a previous experience when the gutters were not as clean as we had hoped for and we were quite disappointed with the service. After writing my review on Angie's List Samantha Kay contacted me personally and apologized for the experience we had had. She sent the technician out again, at no cost to us to re-do the work. This time the gutters were sparkling clean! I very much appreciated Samantha's candid and sincere response to our review and the ownership she took for not delivering on the service she would expect herself. Her response and the fact they used the opportunity to improve on their service was great. That is not easy to find these days and I will definitely use their services again."

"AMAZING!! I am almost reluctant to write this review as I don't want to share Jerry with anyone else! My master bedroom and master bathroom transformation are nothing short of phenomenal. Jerry's knowledge, professionalism and patience with a remodeling newbie like me are unparalleled. We hit a few snags along the way and Jerry walked us through it and dealt with the issues with ease. We could not have asked for a better experience. We have many more projects in mind for him in the future. Details: Complete replacement of master bedroom flooring, moving walls, creating a closet with custom, built-in shelving/hanging storage, painting, replace/update trim and doors. Complete overhaul of master bath, creation of custom, completely tiled shower room with soaking tub, all bath fixtures replaced, floors and walls tiled, linen closet with built-in shelves added."

FAQs for door or window screens install or repair projects in Cocolalla, ID

Most off-the-shelf screens come in fixed sizes, ranging from 18 inches by 20 inches to 36 inches by 74 inches, which fit the vast majority of residential windows. If your opening falls outside that range or has a unique shape, you’ll need a custom screen built to the exact measurements. Going custom ensures a secure fit, a solid barrier against bugs, and a clean, finished look.

The decision to repair or replace your screen depends on the extent of the damage. Small holes or tears in otherwise solid mesh can be patched, and a sturdy frame usually doesn’t need to go anywhere. However, once the frame is bent or the mesh is brittle and fraying in several spots, replacement becomes a more sensible option—and often proves to be less costly in the long run. Take a close look at both parts before making a decision.

To rescreen a window, start by prying out the old spline, then lift the torn mesh from the frame. Lay the new screen over the frame, allowing about an inch of excess on all sides, and hold it in place while pressing fresh spline into the groove with a roller. Check that the mesh is taut—many pros rest a small brick on it while they work—then trim the overhang with a utility knife.

Most window screens last for 10 to 12 years. Time, sun, and weather gradually make the mesh brittle, so you’ll start to see sagging, rips, or thinning spots that let bugs get through. Check the screens each season; if the mesh crumbles or the frame warps, it’s time to replace them to keep air flowing and pests outside.

Most pros can swap out a screen in 10 minutes to an hour. A quick pop‑in replacement goes fastest, while fitting new mesh into an existing frame or working on a hard‑to‑reach upper window adds time. Either way, plan for at least a few extra minutes per screen so the installer can verify the fit and ensure the spline is seated correctly.
