After the installation was completed, they cleaned everything up, so there was nothing I needed to do afterwards. I realize that every house is different, and radon mitigation results will vary from house to house. Also, my house had ideal conditions for a good radon mitigation outcome - a 4 inch gravel bed under a basement concrete slab with no cracks or other places radon gas could enter from below. Having said that, my radon levels before mitigation averaged 4-6 pCi/L, with occasional peaks to 10-12 pCi/L on some days. After mitigation, the levels have been below 1.0 pCi/L since installation 2 weeks ago. Needless to say, I am very pleased with the result. "Fernando was very accommodating when scheduling both the initial meeting to provide an estimate and to work on the job. He arrived promptly both times and his quote was on target and did not deviate after the job was completed. The area of the basement wasn't completely cleared for him to start work when he and his son arrived, but he even helped to move things. Both of them kept things neat and clean, which made it easy for them to clear out quicker with no mess for us to pick up after. I'm picky about installation and didn't want the utility side of the house to look like an industrial area, so Fernando was able to install the exhaust up to the roof alongside the downspout. He also answered any questions on his the written proposal and his price was as stated for the work that was needed for my particular job. We needed 2 locations in the basement floor where they had to install PVC pipe to draw out the radon to a single fan attached to the outside of the house, that exhausted up to the roof. Really clean install. Also got another test kit from him, so that we can test for basement radon levels within the next 2 weeks to see if levels have been reduced to below the maximum allowed. Fernando said he will come back should we need any adjustments and advised us to remember to call him for annual service. His company is listed by the CT Dept of Health as one of the few qualified radon mitigation professionals as of July 21, 2016 - there's only a total of 6 qualified in Fairfield County, so that's definitely a positive sign that we selected the right guy for our job."

"House: Mid 1800s farmhouse, approximately 4000 square feet Inspection Components: General home inspection, plus termite, radon, well water, and septic tests Time to complete: approximately 3 hours. Inspection report was provided the same day and other tests came in a week and a half later. Inspector (Chuck): Was responsive and and accommodating for scheduling the inspection. He arrived early on the day of inspection to begin his prep work. Chuck took his time to explain the inspection process and walk us through each part of the home. He gave us detailed overviews of similar homes and potential issues, then explained how this home compared. He also helped explain how the mechanics of the house work and how to operate components of it effectively. Quality: As far as we can tell, Chuck's inspection was very thorough. He pointed out a number of issues and look his time to triage and assess potential problems. His equipment is top notch, and includes a drone for roof shots and a thermal camera for assessing the heating system and finding heat leaks. He collaborated well with a second septic inspector we had on site and even found a minor plumbing leak in the basement that had previously been undetected. Value: For the size of this home and quality of his service, Chuck was a great value. His price includes a discount for finding him via Angie's List. Summary: I recommend Chuck based on his service. Chuck arrived early, was detail oriented, and provided a high quality report. Other reviews on Angie's List seem to be accurate reflections of his work. I did have to send him a reminder e-mail to get our well and radon results although Chuck responded back with the results very quickly. This was around the holidays so, considering, that minor delay was understandable and not a big deal."
