From the appointments which they were always on time for, to the final product of our new kitchen and office, they were incredible. The construction professionals working in my home were respectful and always cleaned up at the end of the day...on time, on budget and communicating along way any changes or challenges! "I am writing to formally express my deep dissatisfaction with the recent retaining wall replacement project completed by John Krause Construction (JKC) at my property. After reading positive reviews and receiving an estimate that, although over my budget, seemed reasonable for the work involved, I made the decision to hire JKC. Unfortunately, this has proven to be a significant mistake, and I am left extremely disappointed with both the quality of work and the overall experience. Here are the main issues I encountered: 1. Unprofessional Behavior: The crew exhibited unacceptable behavior while working on my property. Not only did I witness them disposing of bodily fluids on-site, but they were also disrespectful and dismissive. when I raised concerns no response was received. I now smell urine when entering and exiting my garage. 2. Unresponsive Ownership: I have attempted to reach out to the owner multiple times to address these concerns and resolve the issues, but my messages have been met with silence. This lack of communication is incredibly frustrating and has only added to my disappointment. The owner refused to speak on the phone since the owner was made aware of the call being recorded. 3. Property Damage: During the construction process, my property was left damaged in multiple areas. This included e.g., landscaping destruction, equipment damage. Personal crew members vehicles being driven through my yard leaving deep tire marks damage. 4. Subpar Quality of Work: Despite the high cost of the project, the final result does not meet the standards outlined in the estimate or contract. No proper grading was completed. Every time it rains pools of water sits in front and behind the wall. The response received was. “we have passed all inspections.  There will be some water pooling while it is settling still. Plus the fact of the hard rain today, it will happen.” The wall has been completed for 2 months. Given the extensive problems, stress and anxiety I have faced. I do not recommend John Krause Construction."

We spend a lot of quality time in our kitchen and it had to be remodeled. When we met Willis Builders and their amazing project manager, Willie Acosta, we got our own designers and best advisors too. Everyone on their team was professional, courteous, kind, polite and knowledgeable. We are happy with our new countertops, beautiful backslash and kitchen floors. "I have been using the team at home breakthrough for years. At this point they fully remodeled my basement including adding a new bathroom/wet bar. As well as a huge overhaul of my main floor bath and laundry room. The quality of their work is outstanding. I also love their quote structure. They start with a labor number and give you an idea of what materials will cost but it’s essentially a chose your own adventure on how high end you want to go on features etc and they are very helpful to guide you on the way as well as have great experts to point you to on cabinets, fixtures, tile, countertops etc to help you achieve your vision. Look forward to having them back for my next project!"

"The contractor clearly defined the stages of the remodel and what would be done at each stage so we would understand what was going on. He also made payments to him contingent on completing certain stages of the project. He was very knowledgeable of what needed to be done for the remodel and what he might encounter once walls were taken down. He was able to adapt to unexpected things hidden by the walls (duct-work, electrical wiring, un-even floor, etc.) He was very thorough in his work and made sure to protect the rest of the house from the inevitable dust and debris that comes with a project like this. We were so pleased with him that we also hired him to remodel our master bathroom and guest bathroom. I would definitely recommend him. "

They performed a complete interior and exterior remodel - all bedrooms, bathroom, kitchen, living and dining room, hardwood floors, front and back porch remodel. In addition, they installed all the appliances - kitchen and laundry appliances. They worked efficiently, professionally, and resolved any issues that were unknown to me. I would highly recommend them for any job- in particular in the DMV area. They are One stop shop - capable of resolving Plumbing, electrical, and carpentry and construction issues.
