"I was lucky to have my job scheduled in between rainy and dry periods and got the job scheduled before the summer season got going. Steven, the estimator & project manager, communicated extremely well and was very reliable. The woodwork was done quickly by highly skilled carpenters. There were several days of waiting the rain out, but that was unavoidable. Painting prep took several days because of the poor condition of the weathered surfaces. There were a lot of stucco cracks that had to be sanded down that I had put caulk over originally. There was additional work done after more dry rot was discovered on my garage roof. The price and little extras of the job was extremely fair."

"Jon did a fantastic job. We had a challenge. Our barn roof was collapsing under the weight of concrete tiles. The trusses were sprung and the roof line was sagging. Of the three contractors who looked at the job, only Jon was willing to take it on. His approach was simple, innovative, and safe. He is a perfectionist. Everything was double secured. He made several excellent suggestions along the way, and was most reasonable in his change order charges. When was the last time you had a contractor like that? He always showed as promised, and on the rare occasion when he was delayed he called to let us know if he was going to be 10 minutes late. My only worry about providing such a good recommendation is that he will get so busy he will not be available for other projects I need him for."

"Daniel came out and replaced the seal on the bottom of our garage door which mice had chewed through. Our door was 20+ years old so I expected the track that the seal went into to be outdated and it was, I couldn't even find it on Youtube, so a new track was required for the new seal to fit into. Parts and labor for this 8' metal track was only $50 in addition to the quote for the actual seal. I priced this out beforehand with competitors and I must say the pricing for everything with 1A was the lowest and very fair. I will definitely call 1A when needed again. "Gurzi and Dewolf were very, very easy to work with. At every step of the process, the two builders coordinated closely with my wife and I, keeping us informed of any issues or key decision points. Rather than just blindly doing the work, they pointed out potential issues before the problem surfaced, allowing us all to coordinate workarounds and solutions so that our schedule wasn't impacted.
My impressions of the builders began when the first arrived for a quote. They asked the right kind of questions, were organized, were thoroughly engaged, had a sense of humor and took ample measurements to provide an accurate quote. Incidentally, the estimate they provide for time and money was spot on. They hit their estimated schedule; any delays were caused by mutually agreed upon scope increases. My first impression was reinforced throughout the job.
Throughout the job I was impressed by their attention to detail and their work ethic. Both builders strived to do the best they could do and minimized the need for rework. During the rare instance when rework was necessary, they approached it constructively and worked with us to ensure that we were happy.
The bathroom looks great! We love it and feel like it is our own private spa.
I would definitely hire them again when we build our new house or for any other additions or changes at our existing home.
