Small jobs welcome

"I highly recommend R & R Solutions. Having found myself unable to afford various $100-$160K Landscape company proposals for my new home landscaping project, my search eventually led me to Jared of R & R Solutions. Jared promptly met with me to discuss my project and he responded with a very affordable quote for his skid steer placement of 15 truckloads of fill and 8 truckloads of gravel to provide the grade and base I wanted as preparation for 2200 sq feet of pavers and associated other landscaping. Via his business contacts he obtained the 15 loads of fill at perhaps 1/2 the cost of other sources. My project vision included several very specific requirements and in fact my ideas were expanded upon well beyond my vision. Jared is professional and very conscientious. His skill with the skid steer and his expertise in bringing a landscaping vision to life are amazing. I am now in a perfect position to proceed with the completion of my new landscape and thanks to R & R Solutions I have achieved this at a fraction of the cost offered by other companies."

"Taylor Patterson and his crew arrived when promised and did an excellent job replacing the sod at my mothers house. They finished the job in a day and a half in spite of a late Spring snowstorm. I highly recommend Patterson landscapes for any commercial or residential landscaping project. Their workmanship was excellent"

"Perfect experience from start to finish. The advice, selection and installation was flawless. Price of the stone was some what higher due to acquisition and shipping cost in Denver. The marble required was very specific and not readily available. Otherwise, I highly recommend Planet Granite and would use them again if need be."

"Our experience was enjoyable. We first learned of system pavers at a local home show. Good or bad, I'm always a little suspect of companies and if I will get quality in line with cost and feel as though they appreciate me as a company. We had them come out and were introduced to Kyle. He was efficient - showed up on time, listened to what we wanted, gave all the differerent paver options, and was able to provide the costs. We decided to visit the showroom to see how it would really look and made a final decision there. Then we met Josh who lead our paver install team. They were ready to start a couple days earlier than originally planned. They had a 2 man team to do our large patio and wall and I was waiting to others to come help. Nobody else came and these 2 were impressive! They removed a lot of concrete and went to work preparing to lay the new pavers. They were very detailed in every step of the project. That is where you see the quality of the system paver process really come into play. One week later, it was done and we are able to enjoy our new patio without the worry of anything going wrong since the warranty is great should it be needed. I appreciate the efficiency and professionalism of the entire system pavers team."

"Everything was good and they did work over the winter, which was very appreciative. They were professional, reasonable, timely, and very responsive. They did leave behind some trash, debris, and gravel in our grass area. Some of that was difficult because of the snow, but there was no discussion or plan to remedy this later."

"It went Awesome!! Wesley drew up a plan of what he could do in my front yard including plants and flowers and rock and mulch. The price he quoted also included changing my sprinkler system into a drip system to help maintain the health of all of the new plants. Everything turned out beautiful. I have gotten so many compliments from family and neighbors!! I recommended him to my parents that needed some things done in their yard and they have also been extremely pleased with everything. I would highly recommend Wesley to anyone looking to refresh or replace and landscaping they might need."

FAQs for gravel or loose fill paving install, spread or scrape projects in Colorado Springs, CO

To calculate how much pea gravel you need for your project, multiply the length, width, and depth of the area you want to cover to find the volume in cubic feet. Then, divide that number by 27 to convert it to cubic yards to determine the amount of pea gravel you need.

A yard of pea gravel weighs about 1.3 tons or 2,600 pounds. Keep in mind that wet gravel weighs more than dry, and different types of gravel can vary in weight. For example, due to its density, river rock weighs significantly more than crushed stone and pea gravel.

The ideal depth for pea gravel depends on the type and size of your project. You'll need at least two to three inches for walkways and patios and a minimum of six inches for driveways to support heavy vehicles and prevent shifting over time. Aim for a depth of three to four inches in decorative garden beds or drainage areas.

Pea gravel is attractive, versatile, and low-maintenance. It provides excellent drainage, making it ideal for pathways, driveways, and garden beds. On the downside, its sharp texture isn't ideal for bare feet, and it can be challenging to weed or remove once installed. It can also shift underfoot without proper edging, creating an uneven surface.

Alternative landscaping materials you can use instead of pea gravel include wood chips, decomposed granite, crushed stone, pebbles, quartz, mulch, sand, and river rock. These materials offer different aesthetics, performance, and costs, so it’s important to do your research to determine which one best fits your landscape design and budget.

Many homeowners choose pea gravel because it requires minimal upkeep compared to other landscaping materials. You'll need to rake it occasionally to redistribute the stones and maintain an even surface. Pros also recommend installing weed barrier fabric beneath the gravel to prevent unwanted growth, although some weeds may still appear over time.
